with windows 10 being a free upgrade does this mean we can get a free version if we are building a pc soon?

No, it's only a free upgrade for those with windows 7 or 8.

 

You could use linux HceHdrn.png

I think its only free as an upgrade(from previous Windows), but if you want an actual free OS then you will either need a pirate ship or Ubuntu.

Try any Linux dist for a week. Some people would be glad to pay for Windows then.

You'll have to buy MSX when you build a new PC, your MSX key will be locked to a certain hardware.

You can get Windows 10 (and 7 and 8) for free most of the times if you are a student. Check out Microsoft DreamSpark. Then go to the tab More Software Through Your School

Some would, then again some won't ever go back to Windows.
