1.  Don't get that motherboard, it doesn't have SATA3.

2.  You can't get it for free.

You may be able to get it free. However, it's not likely you'll get it free, and you'll likely have to shell out extra money to get the OS.

Why do you hate Linux distributions? And SATA3(or SATAIII) is the third revision of the SATA connector. It's capable of a total throughput of 6Gb/s or 600MB/s. Since its first release, it's total throughput has doubled with every revision. SATAI had 150MB/s, SATAII had 300MB/s, and SATAIII has 600MB/s.

eww windows.

Sata 3 6Gb/s is the newest standard in internal data connections

And if you don't want Linux and you aren't a college student, you will have to shell out for an OS

What is wrong with Linux? If you are on a budget and don't want to pay for an OS, you don't really have a choice

@legopc. Endorsing illegal actions on the forum is against the CoC.

Not really. You can play some games, but photoshop you can forget about. Windows or Mac OS is you only choices there.

My budget on building a gaming pc is 500-600, heres the build  - http://pcpartpicker.com/user/IshGames/saved/27vt

but no operating system, Windows 7 costs flipping $80-$100! what do i do to get it free?

You can download a copy of Windows and choose "activate online at later point". If you don't activate then you will get a black desktop background that says "win not genuine, please activate".

This will get you by long enough so you can save up to buy your copy of Windows or figure out something else.

Sorry, but no pirating here. It's basically Linux or pay.
