So, my brother just got an AIO. (COMPUTER NOT COOLER)

Windows2000

Care to list down all the reasons why he is stupid?

Feel free to rant also because I'm showing this thread to him.

EDIT: I should address he's planning to play games with a i5-5200U.

With a budget of $900, I'll say this is a no.

And it's a single fan system.

Depends on if it's single or dual fan.

Shot through the heart and you're to blame, 30fps and i'll pirate your game - Bon Jovi

Take me down to the console city where the games are blurry and the frames are thirty - Guns N' Roses

Arguing with religious people is like explaining to your mother that online games can't be paused...

If the AiO costs more than the CPU then he is stupid.....unless some crazy overclock or just custom WC.

I wouldn't show this thread to him if you plan on making him think he is dumb because obviously he is not.

Well.... you haven't shared his circumstances (his build, whether he has cash to throw, interested in OC-ing, etc),  so we can't really say why it'd be stupid. In itself though, there's absolutely nothing wrong with AIO coolers. IMO they're great as they offer many of the benefits of a liquid cooled system with less hassle.

I don't do signatures.

It depends on if he is overclocking and which cpu he has.

CPU: i5 6600k OCed to 4.5Ghz @ 1.35v, GPU: R9 390 Nitro, Motherboard: Asus z170-A, CPU Cooler: H100i GTX, RAM: HyperX 2x8 16gb DDR4, PSU: Seasonic x650, Storage: 850 EVO 500gb, WD 1tb blue, Case: H440 White/Black

Actually I can see a few reasons why it's not that stupid to get an AiO that costs more. You never have to change the thing since the CPU probably isn't going to make a lot of a heat which in turn means complete and utter silence, and frosty temps.

Delid CPU-lower temps........but only works for some CPUs.

If your just buying a H100i GTX and a G3258 for normal use then it's stupid, for OC to beat record or something then not really.

Unless he has a Celeron or the like he's not stupid.

Is this a liquid cooler or an entire computer we are talking about?

@Windows2000 has some explaining to do.

Can you please explain what you think is wrong with an AIO?

AIO System not the cooler. I should've addressed that earlier.
