  1. Hey guys, So I currently run a 2017 iMac as a daily driver. I am a music producer, and sometimes do some light photoshop and video editing on the side. Now the 5K iMac display is great, and suits my needs but I figured that I would like more screen real estate. I am looking into a 4k 27-32 inch monitor to go ahead and use as a dual screen. I would most likely do photo editing and stuff that requires good color calibration on my iMac screen, but I just don't want there to be a huge difference between the two screens if I do purchase a secondary monitor just for eye strain and continuity purposes. What are some models that you guys recommend? I an preferring a 27-IPS display (because my iMac is an IPS). Also, if I use an IPS panel vs a VA panel side to side, I'm most likely going to notice the difference right? Opinions on that? Key notes: I would not be gaming on the secondary monitor Has to be 4K My key points for looking for a monitor would be minimizing eyestrain from looking at two different kinds of displays I would like it to look decent on my desk so some kind of design continuity with the iMac would be great Height adjustable is a HUGE plus USB C is a great add-on but not necessary Not looking for ultrawide monitors! Budget is ~600, but 600 is stretching it. Would like to stay under 500. Used models I am looking at: https://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-27uk670-b-4k-uhd-led-monitor $300/ https://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-27UK650-W-4k-uhd-led-monitor 250 used IPS no HDR 27inch https://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-32UK50T-W-4k-uhd-led-monitor $220 used. P3 95% but VA panel. 32 inch https://www.samsung.com/us/computing/monitors/curved/32-ur59c-curved-4k-uhd-monitor-lu32r590cwnxza/#specs $350 used, unsure if it is VA or IPS, 32inch curved https://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-32UL750-W-4k-uhd-led-monitor $350 used, VA, 32 inch https://www.lenovo.com/ao/en/monitors/thinkvision-x1# $350 used 27inch IPS https://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-27UL850-W-4k-uhd-led-monitor $400 used IPS but can't tell the difference with UK650 https://www.amazon.com/Dell-UltraSharp-U2720Q-Backlit-Monitor/dp/B086H26XWV $450 used in box IPS 27inch (seems like the best display so far) + USB C I understand that for my budget, nothing will come close to what I enjoy on my iMac. If you guys have any better NEW suggestions within my budget please let me know.
  2. Currently on discord tech support chat room if it helps. Please. I need help. Anybody....
  3. So my computer was booting fine, but it started freezing randomly so I decided to do a registry check using the Windows Driver Utility. I followed instructions on this website: https://www.itechtics.com/2-ways-check-bad-drivers-windows/ Then I got stuck into the startup repair bootloop. Automatic repair fails, and the log file srttrail.txt tells me it couldnt find the reason after running the tool 9 times. So I disabled the automatic repair on startup using bcdedit /set {default} recoveryenabled No and I am still stuck I made a usb recovery drive on another computer, and tried to run it, but it just goes back to the troubleshooting page. See pic: https://imgur.com/gallery/Yb6xuOb How do I use the recovery flash drive to fix windows?
  4. I didn't want to factory reset but my phone works fine now after the Oreo update. And If you put a case on your phone, does the bump even matter?
  5. I'm invested in the Samsung ecosystem. Also, their UI just makes much more sense to me since I've been using their phones forever. It's a preference thing. (Also, MST transactions for Samsung Pay!)
  6. @Comic_Sans_MS But my quesiton is, is continuity just that great to give up what Android offers? I think I can try and get back some features through jailbreaking and if all hope is lost, I can always just sell it and get a Galaxy.
  7. I think I would get frustrated if I don't customize the device to a certain point. That's why I want to jailbreak. You can do basic customization on any Android device these days without needing to root. For iPhones, that's not the case.
  8. The Tab 2 is older than 6 years.... I think it's time you upgrade by now. If you don't want to or cant, I recommend flashing a ROM with a newer version of Android but that has a high learning curve. Additionally, I'm not sure how the support is like for a device like the Tab 2 even on places like XDA. Also, you can't run Windows on an Andorid tablet. That's a given. Ultimately, I just recommend upgrading by this point.
  9. Hi guys, I think I'm going to need ya'lls advice. So I ultimately decided to switch to Mac completely (yeah yeah I know but I made up my mind) but I've been a lifetime Galaxy user when it comes to smartphones. Now, the continuity features are very tempting, but I'm so invested on Android apps and the Samsung ecosystem that I'm going to have make a tradeoff if I do switch to an iPhone. I currently use the Galaxy S7 Edge and plan on getting either the S9 or the next iPhone coming this September. What I lose from switching: All app purchases on Google Play Optimal Google Experience Samsung Pay (I love this thing) Some features from my Gear Fit 2 Customization Warranty (As I will be jailbreaking 100%) Samsung Knox (I actually use this) Freedom. Apple's walled garden... Sidesync (This is Samsung's answer to Apple's continuity but it messes with ping and is no longer supported starting from the S9) What I gain from switching: Apple Ecosystem/Continuity I use AirDroid but its so buggy + slow extrenal SD card file management feature is not availible anymore Purchasing iOS apps and getting ready for iOS apps on the Mac that's coming soon iMessage Timely updates Better performance* (Arguibly, but I'm kinda tired of my S7 lagging here and there and the lag was unbareable before I got the Oreo update which took forever to drop.) Games typically look and run better on iOS due to their custom API Also, the animations looks much more smoother which makes iOS devices feel much more responisve Better AR capabilities Privacy Better Accesory Support Please keep in mind that I WILL be jailbreaking if I do indeed switch, which kind of breaks the stability of the system. However, it's a tradeoff that I'm willing to make. I ultimately want to get YOUR opinion regarding what you would do if you were in my shoes. I want to get some insight regarding other people's personal experiences and apply them to see if switching is the right choice for me. Ultimately, is the tradeoff worth it from what I'm losing? Thanks guys.
  10. I can live with not being able to jailbreak until they have a release fore ios 12 or 11.3, whatever. I also use S Pay, and yes it's god damn fantastic. Thank's for your input! Yeah. I guess I'll wait and see. Even if there are cases for expandable storage and such, I'm not willing to get a big case for that... I'll just get the 256GB version. And yes. I dislike Apple as well but I fell in love with Logic X so I ultimately decided to switch. I'm still #PCMasterRace. I'd definitely prefer to build my own pc, but with the GPU and DDR4 prices right now, the iMac purchase actually makes sense.
  11. So long story short, I decided to hop on the Mac hype. I plan on getting a used Macbook pro and the iMac if they come out with the 8th gen intel refresh. But now I'm conflicted on if I should just might as well get an iPhone since I'm swapping completely to MacOS. I currently use an S7 Edge. While I am a devoted Samsung customer who has stuck with their product lineups since the original Galaxy, I'm tempted to just completely switch over due to how well the iPhone works with Macs. (Continuity, wireless music library syncing, etc) Although I use features like Samsung Knox or Samsung Health frequently, I don't see a major problem switching because Google apps are supported on both platforms regardless. (And I rely on them for school) My concerns with switching ecosystem follows: Lack of Customization Being restricted on how I use MY device (repairs, can't install apps outside of the app store) Not being to able to use my Gear Fit 2 with Apple Health (I have to use the Samsung Health app seperately but I want it to sync to Apple's proprietary health app) Having to rebuy every single app No headphone jack... No expandable storage The fear of diving into something unknown If I do get an iPhone, it is likely that I will jailbreak it (that's a story for another time) to solve issues #1 and some of #2. Now it's not like Android is perfect either. My next phone is either the Galaxy S9 or the iPhone for me, and I'm just turned off by Samsung's update cycles, bloatware, and lag; not to mention that I'm on Verizion so don't get me started on Verizion's clusterfuck of useless apps. Despite so, I never found a need to root an Android so losing warranty support haven't been a problem. Meanwhile if I get an iPhone, that will likely change. I'm just constantly asking myself the same question and struggling to find an answer. Can any of you guys share your personal experiences with both platforms to guide me towards my next phone purchase?
  12. You're a god. Thank you so muchh (つ﹏<)・゚。
  13. No as I haven't been able to get my hands on a USB to burn an ISO yet. I'll try to download it quick and mount it on an SD card
  14. Okay, so I know I opened another thread but just bare with me. Disregard that thread and I just need 2 questions answered. Here's the situation: Every single update that requires a restart fails. I came to conclude that its because I have this EFI partition that I DO NOT BOOT FROM I use Drive 0 as a storage drive that I just changed to dynamic because again, I do not plan booting from this drive ever agian Drive 0 used to be my old boot drive, but I got a SSD and I forgot to modify the partitions and that is why I am assuming that the partitions are still left over So the 2 questions: I want to double check if I can delete this EFI Partition. The file is only 400MB big and contains old boot files ( I presume) https://imgur.com/a/7tMs0 I should be fine right? How the fuck do you remove the EFI partition? I have already tried diskpart I get "The specified command or parameters are not supported on this system." Please help and I applogize for posting twice but this has been pissing me off as Ive been struggling with it for the last 6 hours
