Aside from the good looks of Apples, my friends have them because it's easier to look for a computer in Apple than a computer in a Windows environment.

 

Seriously, it's so difficult to sift through laptops/desktops while having to remember obscure product names/codes. 

 

ps When you've got a powerful desktop at home, getting an Apple laptop is a good move imo. Looks nice and works well.

It's not just about hardware anymore but the OS itself.

Linux and OS X are much better suited for Web development than Windows especially if your a rails developer "cough" 

The Adobe suite also runs slightly better on OS X than Windows.

 

With Thunderbolt 3 I can pretty much use a GPU box and use any GPU I want.  

I like this because I'd never spend a shit ton of money on a Mac PRO well unless it had thunderbolt 3 ports then I guess it'd be fine but... I'd also have to drag the gpu boxes as well...   

 

I use Linux, OSX, and Windows and I literally can't stand the Windows environment for web development, and cygwin is not an answer.

Also how the fuck does "Adobe Suite" better run on i5 with integrated graphics then on my i7+ 980Ti in Windows? That's like saying that Witcher 3 runs better on a Imac 5k...

And yes, the normal non-techy don't care about 1.1ghz dual core shitty laptop BUT THEY DO CARE ABOUT THEIR POCKET also, one of the things they can notice is the difference in screens, the TAB S has a way better screen.

You have to disable icloud music if you want to manually mange your music, but that means you can't download apple music. But if you enable icloud music, then you can't sync from your computer. Honestly when I recontract im going to fucking shit on this iphone and get an android.

I'm not entirely sure i understand your problem. The problem i have is i use ITunes on both my PC and Mac and if i download some music on the PC or rip some or you know;) i just have to homeshare it to the other computer, this works fine but when i move all the files to my Nexus some of it doesn't sort right even though in ITunes it's all sorted fine. Err to put it as clearly as I can you can't use apple music and transfer music to your iphone at the same time. You can only choose one source, apple music or your computer. So if you use apple music you can never transfer music to your phone again.

I am an all time windows user and did take some time to understand windows(about a week)

When I used a macbook for the first  time it took me about 30-40 minutes to understand and how to use it UI !

lol the most common phone in europe the s3 runs ''smooth as butter'' ? are you kidding me?i think i flashed cm on atleast 10 s3's just to get rig of the awfull lags(waiting 3+ seconds to open chrome wtf) but after the user installs a few apps its back to lag again. anyway dont even think you can fool me with this smooth as butter shit after the amounts of s3's i hold in hand

I'm sorry, but I absolutely must respond to this.

 

1) Apple's propietary Lightning port is NOT a USB port. It carries a lot more data than just 'USB' data.

2) Bluetooth audio quality lacking? Could you please explain what you mean by that? I've used several bluetooth headsets on my phone, as well as wired headsets, and trust me, there is absolutely no audio difference. If your phone doesn't support A2DP over Bluetooth, then you shouldn't even be trying to stream audio over Bluetooth. Do you mind me asking what phone you are talking about?

3) I'm sorry, but Android is not 'outdated' in any way. I can accept the fact that you like how Apple's products 'just work' out of the box, but it is absolutely no reason to draw your conclusions about Android over your experiences with just 1 device. Every Android device has its pros and cons. I personally have found that Samsung and HTC phones have the best on-board audio imo, with other devices sounding rather mushy and lacking clarity in the high-end, even over Bluetooth.

Just because Apple's custom connectors have a USB connector on the other end, does not make the entire interface a USB interface. The custom connector interface simply includes the pins for a USB interface, the same way how a DVI connector includes the relevant pins to carry a VGA signal.

As for the audio argument, I will say again, if both devices do not support A2DP, you should not be streaming audio over Bluetooth. I can bet your car only supports handsfree audio. Have you tried streaming the iPhone's music over Bluetooth?

Lastly, please read my point above about apple's custom connector NOT only being a USB interface. If it was just USB, it would have only 4 pins inside.

I have my custom PC and a 13 inch macbook pro retina. . . I love them both. I like the mac because, when I was a law student it worked for what I needed. There battery lasts long, the display is nice, I can type fast on the keyboard, and its overall a quality product. I bought a 15 inch asus laptop for 1,100 with better components. But, the build quality was aweful and the keyboard went out on me mid exam. 

 

It is still nowhere near as awesome as my desktop PC, but for using word, PDF's. and surfing the web, the build quality just makes it infinitely more enjoyable (granted I havent tested many of the newer laptops.

You just got yourself in one heck of a controversial argument, I personally don't like apple as a company for their morals. For one thing they always lie about being the first to do something like having the first phone with a multi-touch screen and things like their fingerprint. Also things like their underpaying in Asia. Their lying and past actual success (when steve wozniak was still a part of the company) has gained a large falsely claimed following. One thing that also pisses me off about apple users is that they think if apple has a feature, apple automatically did it first and does it better, really pisses me off. Also they don't know why they like apple half the time! I was doing an essay of apple vs samsung, and out of like the 20 people I asked why they liked it better, 19 answered "Apple is just better" while the other one person said it had to do with the simplicity or something.

This is more of a discussion thread just to understand a bit better.

 

My dad is an apple lover.  He calls himself an apple guy.  He has an iphone 6, ipad air 2, macbook pro, apple TV, and is planning to get an apple watch..  He's also waiting on the new apple TV, and is going to buy an iMac as well.

He was going to buy an apple router+expressport, but luckily I stopped him from doing that, by showing him a 10x better router for $30 cheaper.

 

Anyways, he is always saying his macbook is this and that, and there is some uneducated points he makes which got me thinking.

 

Why do people just deem apple the best?

 

Their support is clearly amazing.  My dad took his macbook to the apple store recently cause he thought his hard drive was slow.  They took about 2hours and didn't charge a dime, plus gave him some advice on why his system was slower than usual. 

 

But for me, I built a $964 desktop and, spec wise, im beating the high-end iMac by a long shot.  Plus, I'm not tied to a GPU I can't upgrade.

 

Like, im fucking confused.. Are people just drawn to the design and simplicity?

 

Is it because there are more "average" users than users who need the extra 3 gb of vRam and 2ghz more processor speed?

I'm a PC Enthusiast and Gamer, and I completely agree with the points you made here.

Apple is brilliant at simplicity. For anyone who is new or inexperienced in technology, Apple is great. Everything is where you expect it to be and is easy to find. It requires little-to-no skill and doesn't really need maintaining.

As you said, support is absolutely amazing.

If something is available on an iPhone, then it is almost definitely available on a Mac, and the same the other way round.

 

If all you want is a system that WILL work absolutely all of the time and doesn't need changing or managing in any way, then Apple is you best bet.

However if you're an enthusiast or just frickin love technology, and don't mind sparing a few hours a week tinkering with your PC and changing things, making it better, making it worse, discovering new ways to cool your case and components better and finding new and more efficient ways to complete certain tasks.

 

I, personally, love PCs. They're perfect for me. Apple is the complete opposite, great for some people, not for others.
