The most common mistake is people buying power supplies with more wattage than they need. Unless you're running more than 1 gpu, 550 is plenty.

I've been using my EVGA supernova GS for about 2 years. It's very quiet under heavy load https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-SuperNOVA-Fully-Modular-220-GS-0650-V1/dp/B00UVN20UO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1490190202&sr=8-1&keywords=evga%2B650w%2Bgs&th=1

Yeah they're good fans as long as you don't mind the little swastikas the LED makes.

How about a price to performance for last gen graphic cards? Are they a still good buy or should you pass?

Review a windows xp desktop computer.

Which budget graphic card to buy?

RX 460 or GTX 1050 would be a much better value and last longer. Both of them is about $100 USD. -
Remember those huge desktop PC's that ran Windows 98 or XP? Remember those 4:3 monitors that weighed over 30lbs? They're not quite acceptable for today uses but with some modern day hardware it would be pretty cool. I would love to see a sleeper build with over kill hardware like a high end Intel core i7, 2 GTX 1080's in SLI, and storage and RAM for days. It would be an interesting project to see the challenges that they would face assembling this frankstein system. But let's not stop there. How about removing the ball from a old mouse and convert it to a laser mouse? Or convert an old

Never mind I'm a complete dumbass. I forgot to install drivers.

Building a computer for a friend and the copy of Windows 7 won't read the Ethernet cable or the wireless PCI adapter even after installing the drivers it came with. Any ideas I can do to fix this?
-
I never did put Windows 7 on there. It originally had Windows 8.1 then upgraded to 10 once available. It's just now started to do this.

I have noticed the hard drive has been running slower than it normally does but it's only about 1 year old. As far as software updates goes, I've haven't done anything to it.

I'm troubleshooting my grandma's PC I built for her but it's stuck in a loop. After the Windows 10 Logo and loading dots fade, the oc switches to a Windows 7 font and says "Windows is trying to attempt a recovery" and doesn't do anything. I left it on all night hoping it would fix itself but doesn't go anywhere. I cracked open the case and there's nothing loose or disconnected. Would you guys suggest it's a software or hardware problem?

Just set a reminder on my phone for it. Thanks a bunch mate!
