5820K or 6700K

Games may not use more then 4 cores but that does not mean they never will, just as you can get a 6700k gold chip you can also get a 5820k or 5930k gold chip.

If skylake-e is gonna use lga 2011-3 x99 then i would go for 5820k if thats certain.

I hope they release a 8-core cpu for the price of the 5930K now ~500-600 euro

Go with the X99 5820K, IMO this "no current games uses more than 4 cores", is now pointless when both platforms runs on DDR4, so the price difference between the 2 probably isn't too much.

Hey at least I made your dream come true, 8 cores for the price of less than 600 Euros, and that cpu is 572 Euros. :P

If you were to spent the amount for a 5960x, then for the same amount you can probably grab a 10 core/20 thread Xeon. But again it's runs a much slower clock.

What the fuck part 2!

You say it's 572 euro's yet you link a pc part picker link that's 730..

Did some research and cheapest one is € 713,40. Do you seriously have one in your rig with a ancient HD5850? You probably don't game a lot...

Also I think an overclocked 5930K smashes your Xeon even at workstation loads.

I'm not too familiar with European pricing as I don't live in Europe. That's the cheapest Euro price from PCPP. Yes I still have a HD5850 it's really old, can only play GTA V at 720P :( I'm still waiting for the Fury Nano. Don't really care if a 5930K will smash my Xeon, I got it because it's cost a bit more than 5820K, but it has a lower TDP at 84w and 40PCIe lanes. Besides I don't OC so a unlock processor would be useless to me.

It is as easy for me to search up American prices as it is for you to search up European prices (you actually did that but then assumed that the Xeon was €572)

"I don't OC" isn't really a good excuse in 2015 when it's so easy. You paid 625$ for that Xeon, while a 5930K is 555$ and the 5820K is 373$. Both the 5820K and 5930K can overclock to 4.5Ghz or more. The 5960X is 899$ at Microcenter, which is a huge 100$ difference compared to online stores.

You are really going to get bottlenecked in games by your processor no matter how many cores it has. Linus's build with 32 cores wasn't good for gaming either:

Got the Xeon for $400ish not $625. Yeah, Microcenter does have awesome price on the cpus.
