locking doors when sleeping?

I tend to shut my bedroom door as there are other people in the house, though I dont lock it I'm a light sleeper, and I keep a Ruger Security Six .357 magnum under my pilllow so...  Exterior doors get locked and have magnetic alarms though.

Under your pillow?!?! People die this way. I used to be a cop, trust me that is a good way to kill yourself. Keep it in a fast open safe in an accessible location.

Its in a leather holster with a throng over the hammer and the trigger is covered by the holster. So I cant really kill myself with it. It's kinda more behindish the pillow than under it too so yeah it's really not that bad. I've seen those safes but it seems like they take too long to get into.

I don't trust having a gun under my pillow and I am trained and certified. Even a safe gun, if it's loaded should be near my head/body. Always need em' to be pointing in a safe direction.

i never lock my doors, unless they lead outside or my garage. but they still got a window to break out

My city has the lowest crimerate in the State of Oregon, and top 10 lowest in the nation. I still lock my doors. 

But do you have an incredibly menacing, large guard dog?

exterior doors are locked always in fact its a habit for me to turn the dead bolt on the front door every time I close it.

 

interior doors are a different story. I honestly don't know if the doors to the bedrooms in my house have locks. I'm actually quite curious about this as ive never had a need to actually lock one of them. I live alone with my dogs so "locks" aren't necessary as they (my dogs) lack the ability to turn knobs anyway.

 

That being said I sleep with my bedroom door open, unless I have guests then its closed, mainly because of the air circulation. Also if an intruder, or a monster, were to break into the house I would have a better chance at hearing it with the door open.

 

Though the downside to having the door open is being awoken in the middle of the night to a 65 lbs Pitt Bull wanting to get into bed because he heard thunder.

Front door, yes. The neighbourhood I live in is slowly getting worse. Bedroom door, nope, I just shut it. The lock doesn't even work anymore thanks to me.

Well I lock my front and back door to the house but I just keep my bedroom door closed. I don't like to hear stuff around the house like someone in the kitchen.

Joking aside, I do lock the front door as well as the bedroom door. The only way in would be through the walled garden.

It depends. All doors that can go outside are locked. (But I think everyone should lock their doors from the outside

 

As for my bedroom door, I leave it open. My PC gets particularly hot during folding, and I need the airflow

Interior doors. Taken off the hinges and stored in the basement.

 

If someone is stupid enough to break into my apartment in the night they'd have to deal with me.

And if they managed that for some reason my cat would avenge me.

I have one of those lamps that you wear on your head that emits red light that I use for middle of the night potty breaks.

the red light doesn't hurt your eyes or goof with your night vision.

I never used to when I lived in the country, now I live in the city I have to. Too many thieves here. Have a large dog though that scares most people away as it is. In the country I think the only thing we ever had stole was some fire wood.

If you mean room door, I close it but I don't lock it because of the cat jumping around at night.

only when I am blazing inside before sleeping, other than that no everyone who knows me knows that I sleep with a pocket knife under my pillow (only downside is my hands are full with cuts n shit because I accidentally open the damn thing)

I don't have a lock on my room door but keep my door closed, heck everyone else in the house do the same thing. The main house door has 3 locks, and a grill lock outside to prevent theft - we are the only ones in the street with that much security because the surrounding area is full of thugs who rob in broad daylight, a shit hole of an area I live in called East London.
