I created a small techie quiz

pikkie-mahn-mastah

I created a small techie quiz, i will make another that is longer and harder (lolz), but here is this for now, i just made some quick easy questions...

AMD doesn't have SMT, lol

AMD's version of Intel's Hyper threading is called
Mega Threading
Dump truck
Super Stringing
Bulldozer

Lol CPU/Tower gets confused  just as much, if not more, believe me.

What two things get confused ALL THE TIME by people.
Storage/Memory
Headphone/Microphone
Case/CPU
Mouse/Keyboard

You can't be fucking serious? Please look up what the difference between GB and GiB is.

How many Megabytes in a Gigabyte?
Your answer:
1000  Wrong Incorrect

....

A 690 is basically 2
Your answer:
680s  Wrong Incorrect

This isn't true sir. Same socket DOES NOT mean it is comaptible

you can swap out a CPu for another as long as it is the same socket
Your answer:
False  Wrong Incorrect

These are opinions

A good gaming PC range is...
Your answer:
$600-$900  Wrong Incorrect
Question #25 (1 point)
A great PC range is...
Your answer:
$1200-$1300  Wrong Incorrect

I think any good gaming machine starts at 1k personally

I suggest doing more research before making a quiz.

muh specs

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it.

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff.

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

you can swap out a CPu for another as long as it is the same socket

has multiple correct answers.

For Intel it's usually true (the most recent case I can think of where it's not is LGA775 where some boards support C2D but not C2Q).

The first question really depends...

Fifth just doesn't make sense really... I got it right though.

Question 11... ???

85%

A lot of these are opinionated.

And how is "you can put OSX on a windows machine and windows on a OSX machine." not false? Hackintoshes can only run on certain parts.

AMD's version of Intel's Hyper threading is called

ummm, bulldozer is the architecture, not hyperthreading.

If you are building a small form factor PC, it is good to have a fully modular power supply

Again, both

If you wanted to have the fastest possible boot time, what would you use?

Depends on the hardware. Initializing PCIE devices is often longer than initilizating RAID arrays.

I was super confused about that.... I'm sure bulldozer was the code name like haswell and ivy bridge and the like. I went for mega threading(I've never had an AMD CPU). I thought modular PSU's were worse in some cases, anyway you can only have a PSU that's semi modular you're always gonna need the 24pin and PCI-E for builds with GPU#s anyway.

imo this "quiz" is a huge flop lol, as big of a flop as the whole room watercooling project xD

What two things get confused ALL THE TIME by people.
Your answer:

Case/CPU cross.png Incorrect

IMO this can be correct depending on the person, there are people that will point at the case and say that's the CPU. (Though yes, memory and storage get confused a lot too by the techie peasants and non-techies.)

If someone is asking for a recommendation for a laptop, and they have an iphone, apple watch, i pad, and apple tv, which of the following would you recommend them?
Your answer:

A light windows laptop for easy travel and access cross.png Incorrect

This is correct, Never recommend a mac xD

A 690 is basically 2
Your answer:

680s cross.png Incorrect

I was correct again, you were not.

Bulldozer is the architecture of the FX8150/6130/4130, and was succeeded by Piledriver. So, calling Bulldozer the hyper threading equivalent is the same as calling the Core i series the hyper threading equivalent. Also, AMD's FX cpus don't have hyperthreading (or even a variation of it).

Modular PSUs are best IFF there is room in the case for a longer PSU (modular PSUs are longer than their non-modular counterparts).

they don't. OP also thinks a GB is 1024MB among other things.

Advantages of building a computer, I picked saved money, how is that wrong?

I technically got a 24/26 if you don't count the ones about what's a good range for a PC $1000 is what I,picked ( whatever was closet )

The two I got wrong was the Cat 6 and 7 thing and what size headphones.

The one with all the apple stuff what would you reccodmend is more opinion based since iOS is nothing like OSX so I,picked a windows laptop.

Edit- oh and the fastest possible boot time so 23/26
