They don't need drivers, they have very little lag, and some people, like me just like them. Takes up one less USB port.

If you have an expensive Model M keyboard from 1987-1999.

This is my day 1st Questions about an AT keyboard and now why does PS/2 still exist

I want a Model M but I can't justify buying an expensive keyboard now (Especially off ebay)

Not enough for the average person to notice, but pro players might.

Why not just get a PS/2 to USB adapter?

Why not just get a PS/2 to USB adapter?

Model M's have use more volts than a normal PS/2 keyboard.

So standard adapter doesn't work in all cases.

So a $45 cost for a special adapter, is not ideal and also ads one more failing point too.

Adesso Turbo-Win Model: KM-2501, designed for Windows 98, best keyboard I have ever used.

This is a link to the newer version: http://www.cnet.com/products/adesso-turbo-win-multimedia-km-2501p-keyboard/specs/

Edit: Nearly everything can be accessed by only using the keyboard BTW, even under Windows 10 Technical Preview.

If some idiot disabled USB they how do you get it back? (happened to a server at work) lulz

I had to do that on my old 'enthusiast grade' server motherboard. USB 1.1 drivers to be frank, blow. (Though its hilarious watching the look on people's faces when a USB 3.0 connector is plugged into a USB 2.0 header adapter, which is then wired to a USB 1.1 port-which means you get 12Mbps instead of 5Gbps).

Ubiquitous compatibility, direct interrupt to CPU, true n-key rollover, and less lag.

That is false in it's entirety

This adapter is the best adapter for model Ms ever and it's only 9 dollars.

Also Model Ms aren't expensive, they're like 40 bucks

It's superior to usb in every way. It supports n-key rollover, power on via keyboard, has less latency, is driverless (even if adapted from usb, it's not the cable but the bus layout on the motherboard). I hope it never goes away to be honest.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

No there Not.

The cheapest one one http://www.Clickeykeyboards.com is $80

and it doesn't have a cable (Restored Keyboard)

And the cheapest one on http://pckeyboard.com/ (Unicomp) is $80 (Plus $100 shipping to Australia)

(Brand New keyboard MADE BY UNICOMP)

I don't know about Australia, but you can easily get a Model M in America for 40 bucks or less.

Also what you're talking about is a cable, not an adapter. The SDL to PS/2 OG cables are a pain to get, and are usually more expensive than soarer's converters.

You could always make your own SDL to PS/2 cable for basically free and get a blue cube to adapt.

You can't, $40 ones are most likely the Terminal ones which have an RJ45 cable.

and they are also hard to find and very expensive.

Why would you want an M13?

The trackpoint isn't very good (it's really low resolution), the keycaps suck, and the quality just isn't as good
