What are your thoughts on Alienware? I think it is overpriced, but damn. I love the way it looks.

The Beats by Dre of PC gaming

That's pretty harsh, sure it's expensive but you're buying a Dell. Dell's quality isn't shit, I had an M14xR1(i7-2630qm 555m) and that thing went through hell and it's still working like a champ.

Dell only makes sense in the sever / enterprise market.

Their desktops are shit.

ignore the desktops(they are expensive because you arent building them, you also pay for their warranty which is by far the best warranty in the world bar none), laptops are good but heavy, they are expensive of course. I prefer a lighter laptop and then stream my games to them

They cut lots of corners to make a "gaming" laptop but they end up super heavy and chunky and just really gross looking. Look up Clevo/Metabox/Sager if you want an appropriately priced gaming laptop which actually looks nice and isnt super oversized.

I like the looks of them quite a lot, I'll admit, but the price? Yeah not happening. Here an Asus G751 that has better specs costs around $1400 less. Again, yeah, not happening. Talking about laptops.

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

Prove that money should not be wasted on pretty cases ...

The Area 51 ALX with the fins on the top always looked cool to me.

No self respecting PC gamer would buy an Alienware desktop.  Laptop sure. But still way over priced.

Gotta say I've owned an alienware m14x in the past and took very good care of it. It was a really good entry level gaming laptop considering the parts but I bought it through a work program which charged me 2000 but I would pay for it over a period of time.

First day I got it, the screen was broke. Couple months after that gpu died. Another couple months after that something else died. The list goes on and on the amount of times that laptop broke. In the end, when I got my laptop back from tech support they forgot to put my fan back in, yes there was no fan inside the laptop, and so I sent it back. Never recieved it again and called legal department and threatened to sue. After that got my 2000 back and decided to just custom build my pc.

TL;DR I wouldn't suggest alienware to anyone because of my experiences. You're better off either building a pc or if you want portable get a Razer or MSI.

Their desktops are really expensive, but their laptops are pretty good for the price.

And the alienware alpha is just a fantastic deal.

Specs: 4790k | Asus Z-97 Pro Wifi | MX100 512GB SSD | NZXT H440 Plastidipped Black | Dark Rock 3 CPU Cooler | MSI 290x Lightning | EVGA 850 G2 | 3x Noctua Industrial NF-F12's

Bought a powermac G5, expect a mod log sometime in 2015

Corsair is overrated, and Anime is ruined by the people who watch it
