Dell only makes sense in the sever / enterprise market.

Their desktops are shit.

New desktops maybe. Old ones were fucking tanks.

 

I personally thought their laptops were pretty cool, and I liked the keyboard/touchpad on them because the keys were nice feeling (this was back before Windows 8 came out, I'm not sure if they've changed them at all).

Quality, but overpriced. People think of them as low quality. But Dell makes most of the parts inside of their machines. 

The PSUs are not shit, and nor are the motherboards. 

Mobos are OEM quality (which is meh at best) and the PSUs are chinese crap.

I don't think about Alienware I know it's the best brand for quality enthusiast grade pre built computers. With 24/7 support and who am I kidding they are trash.

Eh, they're not the best. I think Razer and Alienware are on the same level of overprice-ness.

Never owned one myself. I do have a friend that owns an Alienware laptop and she's had severe and consistent issues with it specially with windows 8.1. She describes the tech support as a joke, I hope she listens to fucking reason and puts together a desktop next time, or t the very least a different brand of laptop.

As a Dell fan, I'd say that they are an excellent company for modeling your own builds after. 

My decrepit old Optiplex is such a trooper, but not much to be able to look forward to upgrade-wise.

So then Alienware decided to start making cool-looking stuff.
