nope and dont go for a cheap board, you wont be able to overclock, i cheaped out and now im stuck with a mobo that will explode if i overclock the slightest :(

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

It would be close to it or on par in multi threaded games, but way down in games with single, dual thread support.

Facts are facts, ignorance is ignorance, its up to you (OP)  to decide which is of more value to you...

/Even for a content creation machine... i5 isn't a slouch, holds its own, and with (price>performance) Gaming as a focus, decision is already made for you really... the FX falls too far behind in many situations to be considered here.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
