Your first boot

spyder

When you built your new PC, did it turn on or did you have trouble? Mine refused to turn on leading me to believe I had a DOA component but upon further inspection, the 24 pin mobo cable wasn't seated properly, after that all went good.

I also plugged in my fan headers wrong, didn't realise the fans were working till like three weeks into using the PC when I decided to tidy up my cable management, but still she booted just fine

I spent 4 months building my PC, took it apart many times and added new parts slowly. Finally finished bending tubes and... IT WORKED FIRST SHOT!

It worked fine the first time I put it together since I already knew what I was doing. I had watched like at least 100 of Linus' videos, took apart a few computers myself, and bought some random parts for 'experimentation'. So now I also know what kills a PC, too. BTW I found out with an old Compaq that booting the PC with the board on the carpet does nothing lol.

So my first boot went like this.

First, I assembled the PC.

Then, I connected it to the power outlet.

Finally, I pressed the power buddon, making the PC turn on for its first time.

The end.

The first time I booted my PC the fans turned on and the system was working, but there was no image on the screen. After a lot of headache trying things with the RAM and the GPU, I tried connecting to the screen through the GPU and not the MOBO VGA port, and it worked just fine. PD: Your*

I am first boot? I feel very special.

First boot was seamless really, just like installing an OS as on any other pc. I remember being really careful only ordering the parts I needed to get a running system first, seeing if my first ever PC build would even work.

I don't think I've had a computer not turn on after building it because of something I've done... most of the boards I've used don't boot first time as they're clearing the settings to optimal.

My pc didn't turn on the first time I think, but that was because I left the PSU switch off, both on purpose and because I forgot. Nothing in me started freaking out. Flicked the switch, turned on. :D

Then when I replaced a PSU and a GPU in my friends livingroompc, I left the PSU switch off. A little oops struck me when it didn't boot, but my friend probably almost died inside :P Flicked the switch, and again, it turned on. Now he can play games with more than 5 FPS :D

It's kinda funny, that I have seen more native speakers (mostly Americans) get it wrong than those who don't speak English natively. Though, non-native speakers have a tendency to apologize a lot for their improper grammar even though they have it all correctly, and a lot of times native speakers don't give a damn about correct grammar.

Never trust my advice. Only take any and all advice from me with a grain of salt. Just a heads up.
