Arkham Knight PC version has no ambient occlusion

Sorry if there is already a lot of Arkham Knight news but this is a bit of a big deal, not only it runs bad it also missing some graphical features such as ambient occlusion.

They checked the .ini file and apparently it is already turned ON but it does not seem to work.

 

We compare Batman Arkham Knight on PC PS4 and Xbox One. PC is set to maximum settings with 60fps enabled in the config.ini. The PC version has no or only a very slight ambient occlusion. You cannot set ambient occlusion in the graphics menu. But we checked the config files and it was always set to TRUE. So maybe it is a bug that will be fixed soon and this occurs whit and without 30fps cap. There were frame drops while driving the car or in cutscenes. Another time I had extreme textures loading issues. This seems to be a bad PC launch.

 

I really like ambient occlusion in games, it makes games look so much better with very little performance impact. Without it, games look flat, but what is worse is that it is missing on one platform which is suppose to have all the features.

This game.... Just doesn't work..... I like the game (seeing the gameplay), but the optimization.....

I feel like this is the next Assassin's Creed: Unity....

Arkham Knight is now $15-18 in CD key sites. We could get it now and hoping it could get fix for less than half the price (money won't go to the publishers so don't worry) or wait for "ALL the DLCs" edition. Its so shite that its value dropped from $60 to $20 in less than 24 hours.

Funny, GTA V had AO missing on launch to begin with as well, the game never really interested me too much anyway.

 

People were saying Nvidia are getting a better game deal with Batman than AMD (AMD having Dirt Rally), I tend to disagree :3

Why would PC gaming be dead when my friends and a lot of people I know moved from PS3/X360 to PC. Here in Australia consoles are more expensive than usual so people just buy PCs here. Everyone I ask in my University says they don't game at all or they play on PC, I never heard a single mention of PS4 or Xbox One yet.

I moved from PS3 to PC myself and I am enjoying it so far apart from these ports (there are plenty of other fishes in the ocean).

400 USD (US price) = 515.95 AUD

 

PS4 1TB is 550 AUD so before tax (500 AUD) we have cheaper PS4s.

You are forgetting PlayStation Plus annual fee ($50 USD) and $10 mark-up price on retail games.

And PS4 was $600 in 2013, the same year I built my PC which was $700, only $100 extra and can do more than just play games, films or music.

Yeah, mark up on games is an issue but usually it's the publishers fault. Also PS+ you can get from Amazon, just like the games which ik some people cbf. But it's mostly the games that are a rip off here. Consoles themselves are pretty equal pricing.

Hell yeah! That is what I did, I bought a FX-8350 + R9 270X PC for around $700. You could buy an i3 or i5 which is heaps better for similar price but I thought 8 cores was good but I didn't knew about the bad IPC of the FX-8350.

I use to own a PS3 like I said. But I also got a laptop for general use while playing on the PS3. Now I can do  both on a desktop PC, no need for PS4 anymore unless it was priced at $400 because $600 + annual Premium fee is too steep in Australia, a $700 PC is a better deal of the two.

That annual Premium BS is what killed it.
