What would this forum do if...?

Go to solution Solved by Enderman,

I had seen someone do something similar earlier and they got a lot of shit for it and this is a response to that.

we try to convince people to make the right choice

sometimes people can be a little harsh

and other times the person just doesnt listen and does what they want

what's really annoying and stupid is when that person goes around trying to convince other people that the product they bought is good, trying to get more people to make the wrong decision as well

So seeing the flame wars that can start on this forum and the hate that certain products get I am tempted to do something original.

What would peoples reaction on this forum so if I bought this... Would they care more about the cpu/mobo choice or the look of the build itself?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113352

an FX-9370 with Water Cooler

and this

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131876R

an ASUS Crosshair V Forumula-Z AM3+ Motherboard

What if I'm tempted to buy both of these products after Skylake and Zen CPUs are out/for sale because... Why not?

Please post your reactions below now and what you might do if a build log was posted early next year.

(This is a reaction and it is not going to happen, it is a response to a post I saw earlier and wanted to know why people always comment more on the component choice in the build log section then the build it self sometimes)

Very good point, don't worry I am not going to do it, this is just a reaction to see what people would do. I agree with you 100% though :)

This^

I get that its interesting and different, but no one really cares, we already know the outcome of this, its not like there has never been a watercooled FX9 being pushed to the max, its just a higher clocked 8350, which is just a higher clocked 8320..... -_-

And IK this has already been said, but think of all the other combos you could get for that money - FX9 is $250, Formula Z is $200, so like $500.... You could probably find a 4930k and motherboard for that price, in good condition, for less than $500, scratch that, you could get a 5820k and motherboard for that..............................................................

I wouldn't flame. I just need to say that you can get a 8350, and a watercooler and get the same clocks as the 9570 is just a OC'd 8350, all for less then the 9570 with the cooler, I believe. Also, I like FX cpu's for multitasking and rendering, gaming as long as it isn't soul gaming. Now the question is.. whats the gpu :3?

Personally I think those 9000 chips are pretty cool, not amazing performance, but a good novelty haha

Definitely! Ya, that would be the only real reason I would buy it haha

That is still the best gpu if your trying to make a pact pc with the most absolute power possible, but I think 3 way titan x's would be better :3

I think you misunderstand something about the intel vs amd stuff.  A lot of people ask for gaming builds, and with current APIs, DX11 per say, AMD's FX line has poor single core/thread performance compared to intel.  DX12 could change that via utilization between the API and the hw itself.  But, buying an FX right now just for gaming is pointless.  If you fully utilize the multicore ability by doing everything I do then it is money well spent.  If you have OC interest for a 9xxx processor like I did then you won't be wasting your money either.  But, if you still wanna do it after advice about it then that is your money not ours.  We can't make you spend your money how we would, but we can help point you towards the best bang o' ya buck.  From there it is up to you.

I wish I could select more than one answer cause, agian, another very good point. Thank you :)

Or, save some cash and go 3 way 980Ti or 3 way crossfire fury.  xD

Why not put both on the board at the same time?

If your theoretical budget was 3k, I would say 4 way watercooled fury x's, since that would be best. but the air cooled comes out this week.. or is that the water cooled..? Just whenever the watercooled version comes out, I believe it actually has more cores then the air cooled version :P
