Should i get 980 Ti or 980 for 1080p gaming?

dynamode
Go to solution Solved by Aytex,

For crying out loud... Wtf is wrong with the 980? It is good 'bang for your buck' now that prices have dropped. Not everyone can afford to spend and extra $150 on the ti over the 980.

But OP can so you might as well JUST DO IT! for future proof

im planning to build new rig this week. and i was looking for GPU but cant decide one yet.

my monitor is 1080p 60hz and here is my upcoming pc specs

CPU: i5 4590

Mobo: ECS Gank Z97 Machine

Ram: Gskill RipjawsX 8GB

PSU: Seasonic S12II 620W 80PLUS BronzeSeasonic S12II 620W 80PLUS Bronze

Case: NZXT S340

HDD: 1TB Western Digital Caviar Blue // Buying SSD in coming weeks.

GPU: ??

so should i go with 980 or 980 ti? i want to run every games right now at max setting with 60fps.

so anyone have suggestions? i was looking for a future proof atleast 2-3 years. thanks!

Current Gaming Rig Specs

CPU:    Intel Core i5 4460  --   GPU:   Zotac GTX 980 Ti Reference Card --   RAM:   G.Skill RipjawsX 8GB 1600 --  Mobo: Gigabyte H97M-D3H --  HDD:  1TB Western Digital Caviar Blue

970 is good enough for 1080p, and you could SLI another one later. The 980 will max out pretty much any game at 1080p, while the 980ti is enough to run games at 1440p. Pretty much choose the one you can afford. Ignore the people saying 'Don't get the 980 it is bad for your money' they are quoting Linus at the launch day of the 980ti, BEFORE 980 prices had fallen.

if you have the spare cash go the 980ti... if you dont ide go 980.... i have a 970 and its fantastic but price constraints and my limited pc gaming hurt me, for 1080p though it works great and i run a second monitor

im looking for a reference card tho. and the 980's here doesnt even dropped a price yet so at 100$ more i could get a 980 ti which basically clears out the 980?

you can always get the g1 gaming for the colorful windforce logo which looks pretty dope :P also the refrence does get hotter

there is no available g1 gaming here yet. and yes its cool looking but the problem is its not available here yet. the only available is Zotac 980 ti AMP edition.
