Old (-school) Cherry boards [in progress]

X_Rated_Box

Okay I found old Cherry boards in my schools computer room

I dont know if they are working at all :D

But im going to contact my PC head teacher about those

I've found 4 complete ones and only one is fully Branded with Cherry Classic line

The feel of the switches it not tactile at all so yeah I cant define the type of switch by feel.

I put them in a box to hide them because they might be appealing to others

Depending on the model of switch used even the none working ones can be used for parts. What you want is the MX type but some older cheap models would use MY witch is less desirable.
Example of MY: Cherry_MY_switch.jpg

Yeah, design hasn't changed for Cherry MX switches.

Also the model number, found on the stickers on the back of the board, should start with G80 for MX and G81 for MY.

MY switches use a membrane but are still mechanical, sort of like the IBM model M keyboards. Not many people are interested in MY.

Basically MX switches, especially older and worn in ones, are popular now so they are worth saving.
