Why FX is overrated.

Because Phenom II can still be purchased with it's nice IPC advantage, can clock at 4.0-4.4ghz (DENEB C3 & ZOSMA)

 

Also any 790FX>>>>>>>970 motherboard.

FX CPU's are very bad, especially for gaming.

Wont deny that, but everyone on here knows that already (just look up any i5 vs FX 8320 thread..)

Nah, not really. It's still great value. Same goes for APU's, they are great value. Good performance, decent integrated GPU, can be paired up with a low end Radeon card to get mid range performance. Can't really complain about that. For someone on a budget, that's an incredibly good solution. :)

I mean yes for computational and workloads no doubt the 8 core will be better, but straight gaming i find my Phenom tends to put out way more frames (CPU limited games) like CS etc.

Phenom goes against C2Q I think. But either way, someone with a C2Q can still run games without the CPU being the bottleneck. I think Linus proved this recently in one of hes videos. :)

Why it's overrated? When I ask people it's because of its "Cores".

But actually their cores are weak.....

Well what do you expect, on release of fx8150 phenom's were doing better than fx processors and fx processors barely improved since then.

I still wonder why people compare the 8320 with i5's,

eu it's 120€ for the 8320 vs 180 for an i5,

and in the us you can get a 8320+ mobo for 110$

 

It's like comparing a R9 260x vs a GTX 970

Recommend what is best, not what you preffer.
