I'm pretty sure it will. Far Cry 4 dropped to $40 during the Christmas sale even though it was released in November. I suspect GTA V will have the same fate.

That's cuz consoles don't get to have such discounts like PC do on games. That's one thing which annoys a lot of my friends with their consoles, when i tell them i got a game at 75% off, and they paid the full €60.

I doubt it'll be discounted by much. Don't forget that even though we're used to huge discounts on games quickly discounts are there mostly to boost sales. Particularly for games that have underperformed. If there was ever a game that didn't really need discounts? It'd probably be GTA5. I'll put it this way, here's a list of the ten best selling games ever... excluding the mobile version of Tetris...

1. Wii Sports

2. Minecraft
3. Grand Theft Auto V
5. Mario Kart Wii
6. Tetris
7. Wii Sports Resort
8. New Super Mario Bros (DS)
9. New Super Mario Bros. Wii
10. Wii Play

 

Look at that list and think of how many games GTA5 has outsold, and the scary thing is that it keeps selling on all platforms. It's pretty insane. As others have said, I wouldn't be holding my breath for a fire sale. The thing has sold very well and keeps selling well. If I was them I'd be discounting it by 10%, 20% at the absolute most.
