To All G1 GTX 970 Owners, How Are My Temps

Shaan5

Here are my Overclock Settings

Power Limit: 112%

Memory: +300 (3806MHz)

Core: +130 (1510MHz)

No adjustments have been made to the Voltage

At idle I get Temps in the Low-High 30's When I'm Overclocked or at stock

Under Heavy Gaming Load

Stock: Temps Max At 60-65 Degrees Celsius

Overclocked: Temps Maxed At 64-68 Degrees Celsius (Sometimes Hitting 70C)

I noticed A Difference in Temperatures but the Difference In FPS Was much more easy to Spot bumping the FPS by around 10% in most games with no Stability issues(As Far as I can tell)

Thanks

Should I buy the 970 or the 290?

24 fps for that "cinematic" feel

After a couple weeks of behavioral sciences at my school I can easily conclude my parents need to grow up.

I know that but the 290 is so cheap. How much does it beat it by.

My card idles at 63C. (Fan doesn't turn on.) and under load, it goes up to 75C. I don't sweat it, so I'd say you're perfectly fine!

10-15% at most.

Also  @Shaan5 those temps look fine.

Do you already have an FX motherboard or something? Or are you buying for an entirely new build?

Get an i3, im not an intel fanboy by any means, but you will have more upgrade-ability. The 8350 will beat the i3 over all, but the i3 has stronger single core performance.

Doesn't the 8350 destroy all of the i3s...

The 8350 does ultimately beat the i3 but the i3 has stronger single core performance, and you will have the option to upgrade to a i5 or i7 later down the road.

By the time I want to upgrade the Haswell series will be very old, I'll want the i5-7XXX by then.
