Just because you have a time machine does not mean you get the knowledge on how to use those vehicles. I doubt that you would be able to move a single meter before getting killed.

 

I would go back in time and win lottery a few times, then never use the time machine ever again (maybe even destroy it). If you go back far enough then even small changes could do horrible things (for example if you go back and kill Hitler you might have caused something even more horrible to happen).
