BenQ announced their 35" curve monitor, the XR3501

After Acer announced their 35" curve monitor, BenQ announced their 35" curve monitor, the XR3501, which they stated the monitor was designed for a more immersive racing experience ( also in the whole press statement BenQ keep saying how good this monitor will be for racing game).  I guess it has the same panel as Acer's Predator Z35.

BenQ didn't released much info about the monitor in their press statement. Similar to Acer's monitor, this is also a 144Hz monitor, although BenQ didn't state what kind of panel it has. BenQ also stated the resolution in the press statement, unfortunately it is only 2560x1080, not 3440x1440 as many hope for (Assume this monitor has the same panel as Acer's Predator Z35).

For color tuning, this monitor features BenQ's Color Vibrance , which allows you to easily adjust color and detail settings based on your personal preferences. It also features BenQ's Black eQualizer, which will boost the brightness of darker regions of the screen without blowing out the well-lit areas.

Besides the 21:9 aspect ration and 144Hz refresh rate, this monitor also features a 2000R curvature, which BenQ stated with all these features the XR3501 will bring you "a driving experience that is the closest thing on a desktop to getting behind the wheel of an actual race car", and "you will swear you are in the heart of the action as scenery wraps around you with breathless fluidity"

The monitor is expected to be released in the 2nd quarter of 2015, and no words on pricing and accurate release date.

*ps: I believe the panel is from AUO...

For high-end desktop monitor applications, AUO presents 35-inch ultra wide curved LCD, which is currently the world's largest in size and highest in curvature(*), for desktop monitor. Its 2000R ultra high curvature, WFHD (2560 x 1080) super fine image quality, 100% sRGB wide color gamut, and 21:9 ultra wide cinema image ratio together bring an immersive, lifelike viewing experience. The display is especially suitable for image processing, data analyzing, audio-video gaming, and industrial purposes.

1080?? Get with the program. That would look so bad at the 35" size =/(although I'd like to see this in the triple surround setup)

I'll stick with the acer predator XR341CK

I'm not sure I get the point of not only 3 curved monitors side by side, but 3 curved 21:9 monitors. Pardon my ignorance, but are there really people who want such a setup? If so, why? I don't get it.

unfortunately it is only 2560x1080, not 3440x1440 as many expected.

Unfortunate or affordable?

ITS PERFECT... and probably affordable due to the resolution; which is fine as you can DSR/VSR the fuck out of it for games. These resolution critics are all NOOBS i suppose.

And large desktop with large pixels is the most comfortable thing to have.

Just curious why there is no mention of F/A/Gsync

The reason for the 2560x1080 is purely limitations in the manufacturing. They are not able at this time to make a 34-35" curved 144hz ips panel with a higher resolution.

There's more to a monitor than just gaming. 2360x1080p is not a lot of desktop space for doing work/surf porn.

I do agree it's curious, that there is no mention of A/Gsync. A sync should be a standard in all monitors, and gsync an option for the people who don't like to have money. :P

i can see the appeal, gives it a more consistent screen look rather then 3 angled flat monitors.
