Why is violence more accepted than sexual content in medias?

Wow.... "just" god damn.....  Being a christian i take offense to that language more so than any other foul word. I'm really saddened by how little respect people have for "God".  And its not me your offending... its my savior.

I hate to devolve this thread, but I have zero respect for any deity who allows as much cruelty to exist as "god" apparently does, when he has every capability to prevent it.

 

I also have no respect for a deity who demands to be worshiped, threatens those that question it, and demands absolute obedience.

The longer answer is groups have been using sexuality and shame since time began as a tool to control other people.  We're still very much dealing with the struggle against that.

That's a cop-out. Not a legitimate argument. Religion has never been anything more than a method of thought control. Ask yourself why religions suppress people from asking questions.

 

Also ask yourself why you need someone else to give you morality? Do you really believe that without some imaginary figure guiding you, that you would be nothing but evil? I know I'm not.

I suspect it's lazy parents: It's easier to tell your kid "Yeah violent people are evil nobody should do this things in real life" when they can't usually say "Oh all sex is evil!" and have to get into some details toddlers and kids just won't understand "But WHY Gods care about premarital sex? Why is it evil to have lots of sex if it's good and babies come from it?"

 

Trust me much tougher questions to answer for the uneducated bigot and sexually repressed parent.

Why not ask on a tech forum? Is the question you should be asking.

As far as I can tell this is just like any other forum, a community infact, where thought provoking discussions created; opinions are shared; arguments arise through disagreements and people eventually form some form of friendships. But with the forums main purpose, of many ohers, of sharing information regarding tech but mot limited to what people feel they would like to contribute and share with the people of this community.

 

OT; It is a misconception that violence is more accepted than sexual content, it soley depends on the culture and the authoritarian govenment in charge of the ratings and distribution of the media; and because of this varies with each country. In the UK, and the perhaps the US, sexual content and violence are about the same with sexual content in movies and programmes becoming more acceptable; as seen by the likes of GoT and films like The Hangover and The Sex Tape. However countries such as Singapore have the Not Allowed for Viewing Rating (NAR) for medium that contains images of a 'pornographic nature' sorry GoT and other middle eastern countries, I presume also follow this due to religious and cultural beliefs....

I was raised a Christian too, but I saw it was madness, just like any other religion. Partly because of internet but I had my doubts since I was 13.

 

Anyway, religion doesn't have reasonable arguments anyway. Why would you fear a god when this god has never proven itself to exist? Why would a god let horror occur on this world and not intervene? 

 

I think people cling to religion mainly because they are afraid of death, or what will come after, to be exact. Nothing comes after, absolutely nothing, it will be the same as if before you were born, that is it.

Hooray, this has gone so far off the original topic. Glad to see that people are unable to show an ounce of respect to other people simply because they have different beliefs.

Honestly, this is a good question that I've never thought about before. People are more comfortable watching a violent action movie with other people than porn? Not really sure. That may be a culture thing or maybe conditioning, seeing as that's how it already was when I was born, and then it continues from there. (Seeing how this is worded and I can't figure out how to word it better, I felt I had to say that I'm not being sarcastic)
