Experiences with non-techies

I saved 3 months or so of change to get a devastator 2 keyboard.

pls

A 3770k is still a great cpu no real reason to upgrade if it is still going.

This is why I would almost consider half the people on the forum non techies because everyone recommends i7s, and thinks that sandybridge and ivybridge are absolute trash.

What do you think I mean by "saving change"

parents ask me to buy stuff.. I take a dollar cut or so.. They actually look at what's the change and stuff :P

Oh ok xD. I thought they give you an allowance or money as a gift here or there.

Ikr. I mean the only reason why I would upgrade is because the CPU is dead

but it is bad for my workload... Literally it's only csgo, occasional YouTube and minecraft which is all mostly single core Preformance.

Nothing wrong with an i7 if you want high end performance.  Though depending on the use and who you ask an i5 seems to be almost as good for cheaper.

For me the i7 would be worth the extra money for a non OCed one. Aka an i7-6700 or a i7-6700S.

Assuming what you use it for can benefit from what the i7 features.

The main difference being i5s don't have hyperthreading if I remember right.

More Cache, hyper threading and higher clockspeed.

I could benefit from all three. Well maybe not more cache but definitely hyper threading and clockspeed.

I benefit from VT-D (poor 4770k users), hyper threading and cache. If only opticrap worked for me and minecraft uses all 4 cores

There are i5s with base speeds very close or even potentially higher than some i7s.

For example an i5-6600 is 3.4GHz and a 6600K is 3.5 while an i7-6700 is 3.4GHz.

So unless you need the larger cache and hyperthreading then an i5 should perform almost as well as a 6700.  It would take a 6700K to have a higher clock speed than a 6600K.

Hyperthreading only helps if you're playing games or running programs that can benefit from it.  Unfortunately a lot of games (older ones for sure) don't make use of more than 1-2 cores if what I've been told is correct.

A few years ago while me and my sister used the same computer she would constantly complain to me about how my stuff takes too much space on HDD and how it slows it down. I would tell her that I will remove some of it when we need more space and she always replied that it's necessary all the time (we did have some free gigs though).

These days every time I meet my mother she tells me that the ccleaner she has installed is outdated and I have to upgrade it for her because apparently her laptop can't run smooth without it -_-

What. How?

My 750 Ti gives me >300-400 fps. I just opened a new world right now. And you have a 380.

Mine's at 4.4GHz. Yours is at 4.5 and is an i7.

Besides there was barely any difference in performance between my 4690k and my Pentium G3258.

I never said speed was all important.  Please read next time before commenting.

My point was that with the rather small difference in base speed between those i5s and a 6700 that the i5s should perform almost as well unless the larger cache and hyperthreading of an i7 would be needed.

My friend wanted to jailbrake his iPhone 5

but jailbreak is only for 64bit (A7 and beyond)

what did he want to do? Run 2 apps side by side on a 4", 1gb of ram phone.

Like, -.-" pls
