Hacking isn't always illegal/immoral, what if he just wants to hack it so he can access the correct answers or some shit like that? I wouldn't say that's really illegal/immoral (unless the user agreement for the software says that you may not hack it)

if it doesnt allow you do do something without hacking it probably means youre not supposed to be doing that in which case hacking it would be against the conditions of use

99.9% of the user agreements say it so...

Even if it's for a fair cause (like hacking into his actual own system to recover data from malware) we can't help anyone with something that can be used for evil.

Editing the html displayed doesn't change it on the server. That'll do absolutely nothing.

You would have to physically access the file server and edit the files that way but that is illegal.
