How to convince parents to buy you stuff

So I want a longboard because I've been wanting one for quite some time now but I don't have the money for it since my parents give me very little money and that goes into pc stuff (but its not wasting money).

 

They said no. I couldn't come up with any arguments why they should buy me one since it is maybe a bit expensive and I had a skateboard when I was little but it was so shitty I lost interest in board riding. 

 

So what would you do/say?

Also you can do odd jobs for friends/family without being agents the law.

Have you tried asking? Moving the lawn isn't exactly fun. People are willing to pay for it.

Well, if you said something like "how can I get my parents to buy me something that I actually need" I might have been sympathetic to your cause. A longboard? Seriously?? You're gonna have to wait until you have a birthday or Xmas (if you celebrate) or something like that. 

 

Ideally, you should really work for it during the summer as you said. You'll be a better person for it.

No grass to be cut here in athens, and nobody wants a 16 year old to wash his/her car.

Generalising something like a teenager's job is not something to be taken for granted, sometimes you are even lucky to get a summer job  from where i live.

Not quite, there are a lot of jobs to be found but not for my age or maybe OP's age.

They usually look for somebody on his/her early 20's.

For now i just focus on school.
