Rate my "junkyard" rig (fully free cost nothing)

So the library near me was torn down to make a new one and with it went some old computers. a nice Dell Optiplex 360. 7200 rpm 70 gig drive, windows xp, 2 gigs ddr2 ram, 250 watt psu, intel core 2 duo e7500 cpu. So i took an old gpu that was lying around the house from an old hp. A nice radeon hd 4650 1gb, tossed it in, and here we are the completed FULLY FREE guest pc.

Intel Core 2 Duo e7500 2.98 ghz
2 gigs DDR2 RAM
AMD RADEON HD 4650 1gb ddr2 vram -DX 10.1
250 watt stock psu.

Anyone else out there build a junkyard warrior style computer? If so what is it?

To be honest... If you could get 4gb of RAM or a bit better GPU, that would be a perfect HTPC.

Like being terrible in modern games is a bad thing?  Sorry but I bet you there are some decent modern Indie games it can run that are worth playing and then of course there are all the games from the past.  Nice junkyard rig.

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S

Not bad. I'm running on an E7400 with 2GB of RAM and a 256MB Radeon HD 3450. Not a bad little guy, especially with my 120GB 840 EVO making it snappy.

You remind me of this one episode in Kenichi where Nijima put together a Dual core 3GHz PC with 2GB of RAM from the trash. Back then I was like "holy crap, his PC is better than mine and it isn't even real" xD.

 

That's not a bad find; if anything at all, it'd be good as a home server for movies.

I have finally moved to a desktop. Also my guides are outdated as hell.

this gpu used to be in my parents computer and back then it was pushing some pretty powerful games even cyrsis 2 at 1024 by 768. The most it needs to do is gmod honestly. Its going to need a much better cpu down the road, but then it wouldnt be a "free" build aka stuff lying around or going and grabbing junked parts.

Correct, this pc runs all my servers, as well as acts as a backup for the files of the games i create. And it also plays a mean game or two. but mostly it hosts servers. and does other functions.

Just upgrade the RAM and it would be a nice little pc.

Not bad at all. Contrary to most people advicing you to increase the RAM, you don't need to if you're gonna use it as a home server for NAS or HTPC.
