EDIT2: 1.3v bios gives 0Mhz overclock over stock bios without artifacting  .  I`m confused now, why my card doesn`t OC more with 1.3v bios after applying CLU on last resistor?

did you just flash the bios or copy it in your own and then flash it? cos it gave me the exact same problem when i simply flashed the modded bios rather than copying it into mine and flash that one.

I flashed my edited bios. I flashed stock bios to compare it with 1.3v bios.

@Gofspar

Can you help me with turning my bios into your 1.3. I copied everything, but my boost table is different from yours and i cant change it, although every other thing is the same.

Here is my default bios, so if you could help me and make a 1.3v one i would be ecstatic.

I used the 1.262 rom to copy the values to my stock, but I had to use different voltage values and I become unstable at lower clock speeds. Also the boost tables are different. Can you explain to me what I can do? example if it has 1262.5-1262.5 is it better to use a range 1250.0-1262.5 or higher range 1268.8-1281.3?

Also would the boost table cause the issue? His is set to 1405.0 and mine is 1392.5mhz? The stock is 1519 is it better to have it at?

Picking one up tomorrow...

Still undecided on G1 Gaming or Strix.....
http://www.msy.com.au/sa/elizabeth/199-nvidia#/page-5
$500 vs $515 - Price is not a factor, I like the Gigabyte card, it match's my aesthetics but if there anything wrong with them...that people have found..? Likewise for Strix?

Which would YOU prefer/choose/recommend?

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

I just ordered the Gigabyte one, should be getting it today too. G1 typically overclocks better, so I've heard. I hope I get Samsung memory, wish me luck xD.

AFAIK none of those 2 have any issues. The only ones I heard about having issues are EVGA with coil whine. The concensus seems to be to go for the G1. Better cooler, better power delivery, more headroom.

copy the exact same values from the 1.262.rom by using the arrow keys of your keyboard to set them correctly. Or upload your stock Bios and ask for help to set it.

Just gotten my GTX 970 :D. Question, I don't get the memory for core speed... I up it via Afterburner and it tells me the incorrect core speed in GPU-Z. I had to fiddle with the in-game OSD to tell me the correct core speed. Same thing with the memory, it makes no sense to me.

Most Cards have a little bit of variation in the boost table. Its nothing wrong with it. By editing your Bios i only noticed a few low voltage boosts that are different it should be fine.

GPU-Z Memory x4 = real Memory

Most people are using MSI Afterburner/Evga Precision in combination with Unigine Heaven / Valley.

One Method:

- run heaven or valley (you can run it in windowed mode)

- run msi afterburner or evga precision

- crank up your Power Limit (slide it all the way to max)

- increase your core clock or vram in a small step

- wait a bit (maybe 10-20 seconds while watching out for temps and artifacting / other displayed errors / crashes in valley/heaven

- if no errors occur increase clock or vram in a small step again

- if errors occur lower the increased value (this value might be your maximum with the voltage of the custom bios you use

- run valley/heaven again and watch longer for temps and display errors.

- if no error occurs after 20-30 Minutes you can use this settings to try it out in games / normal use.

- if still no errors occur after some weeks you are stable.

- if errors occur lower values again.

A bit of trial and error,..have not used NV for a primary machine in so many years...

Gigabyte GTX970 G1 Gaming - I got it to 1575Mhz/1900Mhz and I have not finished yet, just a two hour play-around, TDP leftovers,..heat isn't an issue at all,....should be a great evening :)

@Gofspar I decided to modify my bios for 0 dB fan mode, but every modified bios (with 0dB settings) makes my GPU unrecognized or something (I can boot `n` stuff, but drivers don`t recognize GPU).

After comparing bios files I found out that modified bios with two letters work fine (those ones without 0dB settings) and those with letter and number don`t work (ones with 0db settings).post-67823-0-57969900-1434140292.jpg

Hey man what do you recommend with this BIOS

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzlCyfu6kxUfNFhWNTlnRWI5U1E/view?usp=sharing

I want to keep stock voltage (I don't want to raise power consumption too much)

I think that the boost tables are f**ked up, and it goes from 1.24 to 1.20 at certain point.

Thanks for your help and time, you da real MVP  :D

I seem to have reached the limit of my card. It won't be stable above 1565MHz. Should I upper the core voltage? I haven't messed with it at all yet.

I overclocked my Gigabyte 970 (WF3, not the G1 model) and found my max overclock with stock voltage on Afterburner and managed to get 1500+MHz on boost; somehow I applied those values into the new BIOS I've made and it doesn't boost over 1316MHz.
I verified all the values on GPU-Z btw.

Before: 1114.0 Core/ 1253.0 Boost

After:    1290.0 Core/ 1429.0 Boost (+176MHz)

I really don't have a clue what happened there, it's completely nonsense. (atleast to me it is, lol.)

The mod doesnt work, or the Card doesnt work? Have you set your fan curve via Afterburner? Keep in mind that you will have to do this to make the nofan mod work. (like its descripted in the first page).

Can someone check my bios and see if I have any low voltages, once and a while when my voltage changes I freeze up for a couple seconds like i'm not getting enough voltage, I am copying the 1.26v bios but my voltages on my card were a tad different. Please and thank you for whoever can check them and get back to me.
