Finalizing a build for my younger sister

Hello, I'm finalizing a rig I'm building for my younger sister that she'll be using for gaming.  The parts where the price listed are parts I already have laying around that I feel would work well in her system and I'm selling them to her at a lower cost than she would get them new.  I haven't added a monitor or peripherals, even though she'll need those as well.  What do you guys think of this? Any suggestions or changes? I'd like to change the case if possible, but that's mostly up to personal preference.

The Arctic Freezer is pretty bad. Pick up a Hyper 212 Evo.

I speak from experience. It has only like a 5-10 degree diff from stock.

Agreed. I give my sister all of her stuff. I just built her a rig, got her monitors, and gave her an iPhone.

My arsenal: i7-9700k Gaming Rig, an iPhone, and Stupidity.

Build looks good, for case maybe a Cosair 200r and gpu get a R9-280 or 270x. For monitor and peripherals, go to a retail shop to see which one she likes.

A few notes to make:

1. She's getting a nice deal on the CPU + board. Overall a pretty well balanced system.

2. You're screwing her on the RAM. You can buy brand new DDR3 1600 cheaper than that.

3. The V300 SSDs are crap. The Crucial MX100 128GB for $70 at newegg is way better.

4. Instead of the NZXT Source 210 for $47, get the NZXT Source 220 from newegg for $50. It has two fans preinstalled instead of one and has more airflow through its front.

I already have the PSU and I had it in my system for a little over a year, it was solid.

She your sis, should have just give it to her.

While she's a family member, she's also an adult and I wouldn't just give away expensive parts to her for nothing.  If anything, I'm cutting her pretty good deals on the CPU/MoBo.

Don't get Kingston V300 and GTX 960. Get ADATA SP900 and R9 280.

Kingston V300 works great from my personal standpoint, but I'll look into the Adata SP900.  With the graphics card in mind, I imagine she'll want to use Shadowplay. Does AMD have an equivalent?

The Arctic Freezer is pretty bad. Pick up a Hyper 212 Evo.

I speak from experience. It has only like a 5-10 degree diff from stock.

I used it in an old rig, and i'm giving it to her for free.

2. After doing some research, I agree.  I'll knock the cost down to $50.

3. I'll look into that but I've never had issues with the Kingston V300.

4. I've been on the fence about this but thank you for your input, I haven't had any personal experience with this case so it was more or less a placeholder anyway.

3. They went and changed to lower quality NANDs after all the reviews had been done. So early V300s are awesome, but now they're pretty low quality.

4. The Source 220 is a really solidly built case. After getting one in my hands at a local computer shop I was pretty sold on getting that case for my system (Xeon E3-1231v3 + GTX 970), but then Newegg put the Antec GX500 on sale for like $25 after rebate and I had to jump on it. The weaknesses of the Source 220 (and Source 210 also) are that they have no dust filters and that you'll need to buy a 3.5 inch mounting bracket for the SSD to install it. It's a really solidly built case with tons of airflow and lots of fan options, and it looks great in person. For the extra $3 I think it's worth it over the Source 210, especially since you get a top exhaust fan that doesn't come with the Source 210 (the 210 only comes with a single rear exhaust 120mm fan).

Holy crap that's a ridiculously good price for a 280x, especially a Vapor-X 280x.

Yeah, I thought it was the black and white, dual fan one at first.... then I clicked on it and was in awe.

Is that a permanent price on the 280x? And does amd have a shadowplay equivalent? I apologize for my ignorance but I haven't used an amd card in a few years.

Lol, the sale on that card seems to be gone already =/. Oh!...it is still there:  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202137&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

Yeah, Gaming Evovled App:  http://www.amd.com/en-us/markets/game/downloads/raptr

Anything lower than a GTX 970, and you should go with AMD... unless you need CUDA cores for 3D modeling or something.... or have one of those Shield thingies.
