How to make block and grid on PhotoShop

Hey was wondering how I could re make this effect in adobe photo shop. I just want to be able to separate the image into sections/shapes ( rectangles,sqaures) and move each section/shape individualy.

you do know that isn't what they did in this photo though right?

 

each one of those squares is a piece of a difference photo

Yeah this was made the oldschool way, before Photoshop was even around and is made of multiple images.

 

If you watch some tutorials on YouTube that show you the basics you'll probably be able to figure this out fairly quickly.

 

But basically all you have to do is use the rectangle selection tool (M)  to create layers (right click on selection) which you can rotate, scale and position by transforming (Ctrl+T).

Yup bunch of different photos stiched together by huge amount of layers, i love the way they didn`t correct color on photos, looks like amazing puzzle, very nice work !
