How is that cooler supposed to cool two cores when it is designed for one? Is it not two 980's on one pcb with 12gb of vram and double precision?

I get it, it's one gpu I thought titan x was two.

Bet companies will probably add a backplate to it even if it's still just running off of a reference cooler.

It's not a dual GPU. It's like the Titan/Black.

It's a single GPU, with 12GB of GDDR5.

Its a single GPU card. Titan X2 will be dual GPU.

This has 12GB of RAM all for one GM200 core. Its beyond what gamers and even some artists would need.

Well that makes more sense. I thought it was a dual gpu.

based on the PCB if it is a dual card both Cpus are under the same Die. theres only one heat sync mount.

It's a single card, not a dual.

That is particularly interesting given Maxwell has no native 64-bit stream processors. In other words, the poor-man's quadro/tesla goes out the window unless you're still willing to do CUDA/HPC research just on single precision.
