i dont ever plan on using my gun it is for last resort. ill probably hide with it in my attic hoping the police comes before who ever breaks in finds me. i wont be actively trying to shoot him

A rifle like that is the dumbest possible weapon to use for home defense. A medium-sized stick is more effective.

Hated him from the get go, he's a socialist, and he's setting things up for hilary to come in and try a full on gun ban *tin foil hat engaged*.

I'm not quite that tin foil. I have disliked him as a politician from the get-go, as I still do. From a person in constant spotlight I don't dislike him. And as a president I respect him as I do for EVERY president. It is one of the worst jobs in the world and few people are fit to do it. In my opinion he is nowhere near fit to do it.

I don't know if they pay any attention to this whatsoever, but if you have strong opinions on either side of this matter I encourage you to share them with the ATF.

The law says "a projectile or projectile core which may be used in a handgun". There are no 5.56 handguns. What the heck. Are they defining the stock-less M4s as a hand gun? I thought those were banned anyway?

As much as i hate how expensive and difficult to get guns are here in Australia i do take some comfort in how few shooting there are here. Its a shame that decent tax paying citizens pay the price for a few nut jobs.

There certainly is different ammunition you can buy, but the point is that since 5.56 is a rifle round, generally all of the 5.56 ammunition will pass through pistol rated vests. (the stated reason for the proposed ban) 

 

As for 5.56 handguns, yes there are AR pistols and they are legal. They are a bit of a novelty and are next to never used in crimes but they are the reason the ATF wishes to ban M855.
