Windows 8.. So the built in MSE. I still think the best anti virus is your own brain. Click smartly and you get none. :P

PS. i thought you meant something else with "AV" for a second there.

Malwarebytes and Windows Defender.

Had Avast but it was horrible (yes i even had a legitimate free version but the shut down times for my PC where terrible and system performance was god awful. Oh and the PRO version when pirated had the same issues although that's not surprising is it xD)

You can set exclusion zones to areas you know aren't infected for the active scanning module, that can cut down on performance issues when you're launching something.

I have done away with avast completely. Couldn't be bothered trying to set it up again.  I did take a week (/JK) for it to finally open.

None but windows defender. AV's usually do more harm than good.. just be smart about what you DL/where you browse. I didn't have a virus\maleware of any kind in years.

I have none. except the AV that comes with win 8.1.

I do occasionally do a scan with malware bytes, but I'm smart about where I click so....

"Normandy" i7 4790K - GTX 970 - Phantom 410 (Gun metal) - Z97 Extreme4 (asrock) - 128GB Crucial SSD - 1TB WD HDD - H60 Refurb. - 7 case fans | G710+ Keyboard, G230 Headset, Acer GN246HL Monitor.

Quick thoughts on system: I7 is extremely quick and I'm glad I spent the extra for hyper-threading. I regret my decision to get the GTX 970, it has horrible coil whine. There isn't any excuse for this terrible whine I and others are having. I HIGHLY recommend a 144hz monitor. Future Improvements/upgrades: Rubber fan mounts, basic speakers, more ram (for a total of 16gb), replace GPU.

144hz is love. 144hz is life. I like to submit unfinished posts then do about 20 edits. I like the Night Theme too.
