Apparently A few weeks ago, an ASUS Nordic support representative inadvertently made available an interim build of the NVIDIA graphics driver. This was a mobile driver build (version 346.87) focused at ASUS G751 line of laptops. The driver was pulled shortly but PC Perspective managed to get their hands on a copy of it, and installed it on a ASUS G751 review unit. To everyone's surprise, a 'G-SYNC display connected' system tray notification appeared. It turned out to actually be a functional NVIDIA G-SYNC setup on a laptop.

Old.. But ehh.. Why laptops only? :(..

Because laptop users aren't enthusiasts, and enthusiasts are the ones who'll pay silly money for something that could be free.

Maybe something to do with how laptops are connected - ie not through HDMI/DP etc

Not really, or are you saying Apple customers are enthusiasts for example?

If they are, they're not that kind of enthusiast. As in, someone who'd care about G-sync if it cost them money.

Gaming laptops are nothing but a compromise afterall.

I am an apple customer just as I am somebody who builds custom rigs... am I not an enthusiast?

of course gaming laptops are a compromise, they have to compromise something but doesn't mean users are not entheusiast

Well, I would say the new mac pro is pretty enthusiast. With 2 AMD Workstation cards and a highend xeon, the same way a system with 32GB of RAM a Extreme edition mobile CPU a 980M and a 512GB SSD is pretty enthusiast.
