Hey I've got a question, is it illegal to write a tutorial on something illegal?

As an example: If someone were to write like a scam tutorial for educational purposes, would he or she get in trouble?

No I don't plan to do that lol, it's just a question.

Thanks

EDIT: The reason why I'm asking is, I want to create multiple tutorials that show the illegal and legal side of things such as, network attacks. Showing how to perform then and also protect yourself, site or server against all Layer 4 and Layer 7 attacks. I think it's important to show both sides to fully understand.

hak5 has always framed it as teaching vulnerabilities as a self defense method

however know this, attaching these tutorials to your own name does come with a few down sides IRL. I remember a few times Snubs (shannon) lamenting about being turned down for mortgage loans because she derived part of her income from a site labelled with the word "Hack"

As long as you don't ask or imply you want someone to do it yes. It legal, for example,

The perfect murder should involve disposal of a body.. Bla Bla Black.

I didn't tell anyone to do it, therefore it's not my fault if they do it. However if you write some very complex guides on certain things the police will come knocking and try to punish you, even though your not breaking the law.

"Is it smelly to have a smelly fart?" is essentially how self explanatory this title is.

Edit: but to actually answer the question, I would say no it's not illegal. You could probably argue it's for educational purposes.

You underestimate the paranoia of the government. They would crucify everyone if it meant that they'd be safer from us. They'll take anything that seems innocuous and spin it as illegal. Then they can charge you and throw you in prison. They get a kick out of it.

Death row it is. Because America!

Our Grace. The Feathered One. He shows us the way. His bob is majestic and shows us the path. Follow unto his guidance and His example. He knows the one true path. Our Saviour. Our Grace. Our Father Birb has taught us with His humble heart and gentle wing the way of the bob. Let us show Him our reverence and follow in His example. technically no, depending on what it is,  most of the time its fine to make the tut, but the person learning  from it should be aware its illegal, in the video or description, in the end they actually did the harm not you.
