Boycott nvidia because they lied about the 970 ?

I/O

Really, another one of these threads...

The performance is still the same, and I don't believe they lied about the specs on purpose. As for 3.5 vs. 4gb of VRAM. Firstly, it's not even an issue, and secondly, if the drivers get modified it's most definitely not an issue.

Can't you just go to, and stay on the AMD forums and fanboy there? I'm sure you'll find plenty of people there who will finally agree with your nonsense.

it's crap but how are you going to boycott it exactly? people who have them, have them, people that want them are still going to buy them because of there price and performance per watt. The 980 is significantly more expensive, the 960 significantly less powerful and the red team have comparable performance and price but power usage my gawd, also there's the whole proprietary nvidia function like shield streaming, shadowplay etc...

it sucks, that is undeniable, does it make real world difference? I don't think it does...

Even me completely not supporting the unacceptable shit that Nvidia has done, I know that this topic was made with the pure intentions to create chaos. Lol.

Oh no man.

The Vram is crap and nvidia lied.

PR teams are VERY separated from the engineers and neither know what the other is doing/talking about.

And the VRAM issue isn't an issue. Firstly, you can run windows/desktop/etc... off of the slow .5gb of VRAM since that has to run somewhere (speaking of which, the 4gb R9 290 isn't 4gb either since desktops take up a good chunk of that). And secondly it's not an issue since the only time it becomes an issue is at 4k, where the 970 wouldn't perform well regardless of the VRAM.

I would call out AMD if they did some BS faster than flys on shit. If you did not notice I bash on the AMD FX CPUs all the time cause they have shitty value for money for gaming and low IPC and per core performance.

Oh no man.

The Vram is crap and nvidia lied.

As @djdwosk97 said, even if they did lie it doesn't change the performance one bit.

500mb isn't going to made a great big deal in performance unless running 4K, which the minority of people run this resolution.

As well as this being the 10-15th post about this issue. Please stop

It's just a poll to see how many people are pissed off and would be willing to boycott nvidia.

This topic coming from a former AMD fanboy "HA! YOU'RE AN NVIDIOT"... No. Both teams coexist in my PCs ecosystem. So still no.

why even start another thread? wasn't the last 5 threads enough?  join an existing thread please, stop clogging the forums up with more useless crap.

Well TBH, Nvidia did screw up with the memory, and AMD needs to step up their game, but at the same time, you can't really "boycott" nvidia at this point becasue the the units have already been shipped. And a recall wouldn't really be all that intuitive because prebuilt PCs are shipping with them too.

Just my thoughs.

I boycotted nvidia. Newegg and NCIX etc can buy up all the crap they want but that does not mean I have to pay for it LOL.
