Please don't buy a 960

I/O

Why ? because of the lack of memory and pathetic 128 bit bus and the overpriced nature. Wait for the new AMD cards down the road or just go with a 970. The 960 is another failed before it even started overpriced POS from nvidia.

The price eventually will drop.  I completely agree with you, if you waited for the 960, you can wait another 1-2 months for AMDs 300 series launch.

Well, the 280x is about the same price in Australia and gives a tonne more performance, as well as the 285. The 960 doesn't need to exist in my opinion.

At $200, beating a 760, and being more efficient, I'd say it would be a viable upgrade for plenty of people.

Just because you dislike a card or find that it is weak doesn't mean it is a bad card for absolutely everyone.

Not really. There are better options from both green and red right now.

Meh, he doesn't seem as insane about it now, but he did have a massive streak of intel hating.

True, but the limited 2gb of VRAM and $200 price point for something which competes with a 280x once it's (960) been heavily overclocked is a bit much.

I agree.

Please you went to Intel solely because AMD offers three+ year old chips or APUs.

I'm pretty sure both Linus and Tek Syndicate said $200 or around there.

970s are $330-370 or so depending on the model, so the 960 being $330 would be a horrible idea.

Honestly yeah pretty much can't disagree with this honestly the "960" should be the 950Ti cause it reminds me more of the 750Ti than the 660 or the 760... I really think "960" should be demoted to 950Ti and a true 960 should come out as a further cutdown 970/980 GM204

It will still me significantly more efficient than a 280x, around 120W compared to the 250W of the 280x.
