220 euros/ US dollars is advised but the price is way inflated (at least in the Netherlands)

I'm sorry to say, but you misinformed.

The GTX 750Ti holds that slot. This card was always meant to replace the GTX 760 and fill it's price slot. The fact that it came in this cheap is the surprise. Most of the speculation was saying $250-$275.

Why? Then they'd be undercutting the 750 Ti, which wouldn't make sense, and the 760 was about $200 as well.

It costs $30 more than my GTX 650ti did, and will perform a shitload better. I don't see how that price is a problem.

It's not a 750/750 Ti replacement, it's a 760 replacement. The 760 sits at the $250 price point and it's replacement is faster and cheaper. The only thing wrong here is your expectations.

Overclock the hell out of it, its supposed to be an overclockers dream. Though to me that means no damn turbo boost, doing a 240MHz OC on my 650ti by myself feels a lot better than 150MHz with a GTX 970.

That's how much it was when I bought my 660. I bought my 660 about 3-4 months before the 7 series came out too. And it was $219.

So I'm not really surprised at all...

the 960 is stupid in every way.

> save-up a bit more

> buy a 970

1) get +30% performance

2) not regret not saving up in the first place.

-------------------------------------------------------------

nvidia made a awesome gfx card (970), made a ton of sales and especially the g1 running stock cooler and better than the 980; they needed a way to sink people's money.

OR save up a tiny bit more and get a 290, still better. this card is just all kinds of bad.

Even if $170, the GTX 960s are only $30 above $170 (at least is what its showing me, it's $200 USD.)

You can probably easily get $30 from a friend or maybe even between the couch cushions..

I just ordered a bunch of them, and I got a decent small-volume price on them. Most of them will go to some CAD Workstations we are doing right now, but I will have to say that the pricing is going to be really good on these. For what you get, especially. These are great bangs for the bucks. AMD has no answer for these, at all.

Oh, I sure love my job.

He meant the 290 compared to a 960.

Also, GPU boss is awful (See GTX 780 vs. R9 295x2 for just one example of many).
