Retro Build (my first custom loop, practice for an upcoming build in a Corsair x280) :) 

 

The case is not friendly at all, poor support for loops, cable management a nightmare but... I like it's ascetics!

I’ve done few changes in my setup already, swapped ddc pump for d5 pump, front radiator is now 360 instead of 240 and all fans are Vardar fans.

Well, I can't agree with you on that one. Actually, for a Mini-ITX case, it's got quite alot of options: 140/180/240 rad or on the front, 240 rad on top and 120 rad on the back. There's still room left for a D5/tube res combo. I used this exact case in my previous 2013 build as well, I'll see if I have some picture of it. I'll edit this post and upload my current build as well.

Cablemod set for GPU, ATX and CPU power, with a 24-pin right angle connector and 2x U-turns 8-pins.


Storage:
     - 1TB Corsair MP600 NVME m.2 PCIe gen 4*
     - 2TB Seagate Compute Sata 2.5" SSD*
   *(internal SSDs are only used for softwares and renders)
     - 10gbps SFP+ link to my unraid array (with SSD cache) through a SolarFlare SFN5122f cards

 

Cooling:

3x NF-R8 redux
2x NF-A12x25
1x canibalized Eisbaer 120mm AIO
1x Alphacool NexXxoS UT60

A bunch of 45° and 90° alphacool fittings

Flow pattern: CPU to back exhaust rad, then front intake rad, as to spit the very hot air directly at the back and have fresh or (worse case scenario) tepid air in.

 

Project: I do plan on printing a nylon or PETG casing as to separate the GPU side and the CPU side, as the GPU spits warmth from its side, I would prefer the intake fan to push all that to the back grill instead of having it go over to the CPU side, as it tend to somehow stagnate a bit in it (these R8 redux fans are not great at sucking air through that thick rad. I might also print a TPU gasket as to make a seal between the fans and the rad.

 

Front IO, drive mounting and additional intake:

1x Evercool HD-AR-ARMOR (replaced fan)

1x Icy Dock MB082SP (in the HD AR ARMOR, to mount the 2TB SSD)
1x SilverStone SST-FP510 for front USB3.1 + hotswap 2.5bay + hotswap 3.5bay

 

Case: 4U 4088-S

Side note: notice on this link how the support plate is supposed to bend inward for PCI support, and where the 3.5drive cages are. No, it wouldn't have worked with my GPU or cooling solution.

Yes, a dremel was involved. Some gentle hammering of the dual 80mm rad too.

Looks great. What kind of temps do you get with that setup? Do you find the rear exhaust fan scavenges air from the top rad/fans affecting performance?

The case is id-cooling stream 2 I bought it as a b-stock. It is all aluminium loop Ek waterblocks, pumps and fittings. Koolance radiators.

The loop:

Pump> T-splitter#1 to GPU and CPU
GPU> 120rad> right side case tubing> T-splitter#2
CPU> 240rad> left side case tubing> T-splitter#2
T-splitter#2> Pump


Looks very cool and such a cool idea. But there are problems. The case has awful cable managin possibilty and there are no mount places for SSD/HDD. The loop seems odd but it works fine. Sourcing aluminium parts is a pain in the ass. My suggestion to any one looking to manufacture this sort of case would be to use plastic tubing inside the aluminium tubes so you could use copper parts. Also increase the size and make it more versatile for cable managment and different hdd/ssd applications.

Can someone explain to me but i have saw few examples here with similar paths trough GPU water blocks and if i am right it should be set up something like this to cool gpu-s efficiently or i am wrong?

Hope this helps. This is parallel GPU flow. The flow is split on one side, travels across both GPUs, and then rejoins on the over side. The performance is the same, but this has less flow impedance (is less restrictive).

Parallel flow is just as good, especially with dual GPU, I use parallel flow with both CPU and GPU, even it halves the flow rate it does not really matter due to the fact the flow rate is not that important (only than you bleed the loop) I use a small Bykski/Barrow pump connected to the motherboard fan header and it is fine. It was a bit of a challenge to bleed but once it was done it works fine.

This with parallel flow kinda dosent make sense to me, if i am not wrong that block just has straight hole trough and trough and only small cutouts so water can go into each block, so yeah it has higher flow but still i am not sold into that each block gets 1/3 of flow.

With that block, there’s only one inlet and outlet. So the flow has to go through the blocks. And I’m this case you would use the same blocks. Thus resistance would be the same. Making it 1/3. Like everyone else who has already ran several cards can tell you it’s pretty clear it works seeing the temp reading on the cards.

If it helps you, think about how a grass sprinkler works. The flow comes out evenly across all the holes.

Well i made some mods playing around with old  server fans 11k rpm i downloaded 4.8ghz xtu profile for my 7800X with liquid cooling and liquid metal the small radiator didn't keep up and ran too hot temps above 101 degrees Celsius now after this mod temps reach barely 70 though ide share with you, n the fans are pretty loud at full load running around 8k 🤪 but works pretty well under low to moderate load its quite as around 38.7 db

Industrial Silence
