Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it. 

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff. 

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

I used to use Firefox nightly, used it for like a month in like mid 2014, I loved it seeing it was super snappy and didn't slow down randomly like Firefox sometimes does with a few tabs with flash. *cough*Holy fuck Facebook*cough* But switched back to Firefox cause of the bugs.

 

 

I used to use Chrome, wayy too big of memory leaks, Firefox had some big ones at time, but not as bad as chrome. Now Firefox is a bit more efficient.

it's not even good for that. I always accidentally bing something, and bing, shit you not, takes to me a softonic downloader 90% of the time.

Download Opera through FireFox and never ever download Safari

Safari = peep 

Wasnt really planning to use safari or opera. 

I only use firefox because of chrome doesnt support battlelog plugins and some other plugins.

that's a recent thing because chrome now thinks that since they have 60% market share they can just start fucking over major websites going back years and not suffer the consequences. They should learn from mozilla.

I'm going to be completely honest, whenever I reinstall windows, with the flash drive holding all my drivers, it has Firefox with it. I just disable Explorer.

I really hope that the new microsoft browser from windows 10 is much better than chrome. Will see and hope.

I was a lifelong primary firefox user until it starting ripping off of chrome. A ripoff of a ripoff is never good. I still love gecko and would love mozilla to start making good decisions again. 

 

And I mean fucking tabs on top. I never thought I'd see the day where the majority of Internet users can't see titles on webpages.

also firefox has fked up way too many times for me.

They both are bloated, but until recently oddly enough, firefox always worked better with youtube for me.

No I mean google accont sync and stuff. Reinstalling windows and your bookmarks are just there, it's the dream. Firefox had some major issues with java for me when I used to play runescape, since then I switched and haven't seen a single reason to switch back.

Everyone is always crying about RAM and then they start using firefox to have 5gb of ram free, what a big help.

I remember back in the day when chrome came out, it fucking sucked at java and and other 3d stuff. People literally started using it cause of google advertising and it launched faster, even though pages loaded slower, it appeared to be faster because it lacked firefox's smooth scrolling. Then chrome's dev team proceeded to do everything it could to be faster and not better, eventually even making it not render below the fold when it switched to blink, causing that alpha pattern when you scroll too fast. To shave milliseconds...

Yet, I never imagined that by the time chrome switched to blink, it would be better by far.

It's sad how Chrome started as a Firefox ripoff and now Firefox is a Chrome ripoff. 

Both are way to bloated these days imho 

Vivaldi is a good alternative (on my laptops anyway), Firefox seems fast on a Pentium M770, but Vivaldi positively fly's (its a technical preview though-but still very good).

Used to use opera, but atm there's not much reason not to use chrome and youtube in html5 works a lot better on it.

??? Chrome just works well with google services. 

also firefox has fked up way too many times for me.

as long as chrome works there is no reason to switch.

 

I never said anything about services or if one or the other works. Firefox just > Chrome. Chrome eats ram like a fat kid in a candy shop.

 

I was a lifelong primary firefox user until it starting ripping off of chrome. A ripoff of a ripoff is never good. I still love gecko and would love mozilla to start making good decisions again. 

 

And I mean fucking tabs on top. I never thought I'd see the day where the majority of Internet users can't see titles on webpages. 

 

I don't like the directions Firefox is taking but it is at least still better than Chrome and uses way less resources, too. Plus it just looks way better and feels far more organized.

 

(I'm looking for a Firefox replacement...sadly I haven't t-t)

And? It can take 99% of my RAM as long as I don't need it. 

It uses a ton of RAM, but it does not impact the performance of my computer so what does it even matter.
