Dota 2 now accessible without keys (except China)

So Dota 2 is set for release before it's annual tournament, The International, hosted and run by Valve the developer behind the game. Previously you had to obtain an invite key in order to play but as of today apparently you can now access it from the Steam client anywhere in the world (except china) without the need for a key. This is very exciting and means big things for the game in terms of eSports and popularity.

EDIT: Some People have reported that this is not actually true. Apparently it's only the spectator client and access to the Tutorial that are available.

What you've got was an invite to the Beta, the price you see on steam is the price of early access essentially, the game will be free once it launches.

Anyone know why it's not allowed in China? Just wondering.

Is this the real life? Or is this just fantasy?

It's to do with some content and legal issues with on-line games in china. They need to go through a stand alone client to launch Dota 2 in China, which was only recently released there. Also Valve has to change some of the hero models to be compliant with the restrictions in China.
