Which of these three headsets is the best? :\

sgtcool
Go to solution Solved by Lauen,

i dont want that, and the HyperX sound nice

and thos headphones are for studio use

"gaming headset" doesn't mean anything, it's just a marketing gimmick. 99% of gaming headsets are overpriced, shitty sound and shitty built shit. I said shit a lot, but I'm trying to prove a point. the only headsets worth buying are Steelseries Siberia v2 (tight budget), HyperX Cloud, QPad QH 85 and 90, Sennheisers and Audio-Technica's. seriously.

7.1 in headphones are a gimmick too, I've tried ASUS' surround, Razer surround, Logitech Surround and the Corsair surround, they're all shit compared to in-game headphone option. I'm 100% serious, they all make the sound muddy and disorientating. I have gone through many a headset, and I've tried several headphones, the best of all I've tried for gaming is the Sennheiser PC360, basically a Sennheiser HD518 with a mic attached to it. get that if you can, 10000000000000000000000x better than "gaming" gear.

im lookin for good headsets with good sound and 7.1

Corsair Vengeance 2100 7.1 wireless

Corsair Vengeance 1500 7.1 USB (whats the difference between 2100 and 1500 anyway?, accept that 2100 is wireless)

and Razer Kraken 7.1 (with microphone)

which of them is the best? help me chose :/

they all have similar prices (90€-100€)

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   Sample Text ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Do you really need the 7.1 thing? It doesn't make that much difference... If you don't NEED it then have a look at the HyperX Clouds, they're pretty good and inexpesive.

i'm a potato

Get the HyperX Clouds, I've tried Stereo and Surround Headsets  and you really don't notice much of a difference between them.

on some forums people suggest the razer rather than vengeance 1500

Why not HyperX Clouds.

i dont know anything about them and they dont have a mic and they are kinda cheap and cant trust it

I have the H2100 (rebranded 2100). I think the 7.1 sound is amazing and makes all the difference. Some games in particular work far better than others. Mount and Blade Napoleonic wars is a game in which Dolby 7.1 really stands out. The atmosphere in the game is totally changed by it.

1500 is the same as 2100 accept for the 2100 being wireless. They're the same headset, use the same drivers and use the same tuning software also (which you download from Corsair's website).

The mic is also really good on both headsets.

Don't get HyperX Clouds and don't get the Razer.

Have you honestly used a virtual 7.1 surround headset? I cannot use stereo anymore, it just seems too flat now.

I sort of feel cursed in a way because my future options for headsets will only include those offering virtual surround sound.

You can download the razer thing it has the magic and use it with any good headset. Stereo sounding flat is bad stereo, we only have two ears.

What's so special about gaming? Audio is audio. Although a more open headphone would be better for directional accuracy.

I recommend the HyperX Cloud's, they're rebranded QPad's, which are using Beyerdynamic technology and a similar look / feel to some Takstar, the sound is good, muddy in the low range like all gaming headsets, but good in all other ranges. It has a mic included as well as a mini little volume control soundcard.  It doesn't have 7.1 surround, but really that's mostly a gimmick for marketing and I can assure you that most games have positional cue's built in to them, which the drivers will assuredly replicate without any software involved or without the "Multiple drives in each earcup!" Like Razer did.  As for the Razer headset, just avoid it, they're a mostly bloated sound with a -very- subpar microphone.  The Cloud's mic is a step-up, not a huge step, but a decent step.  If you can move away from headset's though; @spwath has the right idea.
