With Corsair's extremely shoddy Link software, it's difficult to see the value of their i series PSUs. Corsair puts a considerable price premium on these extra features so decent software support should be a given. Link's PSU monitoring and control functions are bug-ridden, if they work at all. I'd suggest paying close attention to software updates and bug reports on Corsair's forums before buying any product with Link integration.

I don't really understand why

but it's mostly marketing

since every line up has different OEM manufacturer

but the problem is their marketing most of time just gimmick

and it really confuse most user

What OEM is the HX series? 80Plus does not equal quality.

There's only one company that does Corsair Link PSU's.

FANBOY OF: PowerColor, be quiet!, Transcend, G.Skill, Phanteks

FORMERLY FANBOY OF: A-Data, Corsair, Nvidia

DEVELOPING FANBOY OF: AMD (GPUS), Intel (CPUs), ASRock

My HX750i is also 80+ Platinum, I have no idea where that puts the AX series, higher quality components from the OEM?

Also just as a side note, in case anyone was on the fence about it, the "i" is not something that should up the value of Corsair PSUs, as it is written in the holy texts:
