MSI may have once again claimed the GPU throne

Its been a while since we have seen something of this caliber be unleashed onto the market, the behemoths seem to have calmed down and no longer wander the streets asking for money from every poor soul which dares question their cuda cores.

 

Anyways what does this challenger bring to the throne, it comes in many names yet in the end it kills just the same.

 

Firstly a history lesson

 

In 2011 history was changed forever with the 6450, it would destroy images of games such as Crysis, OEMS like dell went crazy with its uncanny ability to run at a mere 20 watts. It was definitely a worthy successor to the already outstanding 5450 which killed everything and everyone within its price range.

 

Over the next few years AMD realised they couldnt create a better card, no matter how much they tried, cards such as titans, 780 tis and even 9800 gts, all slain by this beast(note these extremely accurate tests were carried out with a 200w psu).

 

Anyways the card returned to the le mans of computer market branded at the radeon 7350 boasting the impressive gddr5 memory and a higher gpu clock and also 1gb vram bonus with options of 2gb if that was needed which of course it is because bigger numbers are better right.

 

 

However the game changes this year as the 230 smashes its way onto the market, it drops its armour, gddr5 was only a number right? It now runs raw, ddr3 clocked at 1000mhz. A core clock of 625mhz, passive 0db cooling.

 

Not even the twice frozr cooler could handle this beast and before you try to reply, no its not due to the pcb size, its 100% due to the badassness that is this gpu. 

 

It even supports its team with a red pcb, its a shame that so many gpus have forgotten their heritage, that they have forgotten about all the gpus that gave their lives so that all gpus could be created equal. This is a real throw back to the good old days.

 

I only wish that its 160 stress processors have mercy on the poor pixels which dare cross its path because this dirty sausage can handle 3 screens at a time in hd.

Well for gaming this card is shit.

Buttt considering it has 3 video outputs, in a workstation type situation, why no throw in as many as possible and have allllll the monitors. I would, the only thing that is holding me back is finding cheap monitors that don't cost 10x the price of the GPU.
