People in Canada is your province getting Fibre internet rolled out?

RainColt

I live in Saskatchewan and we have Fibre being rolled out though most of the province and I know that Nova Scotia and Quebec have it as well, is Fibre being rolled out Canada wide?

Why do you always die right after I fix you?

Alberta

richest province and I don't think we are.

Tha hell.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

Most places have fiber rolled out in most larger cities, but the problem is it's not full coverage all areas.

My area was left out of the fiber roll out  :(

Probably going to be the main cities first. Surprised to see Saskatchewan getting fibre before some of the other regions.

It's patchy at best. For example you can get fiber to any building in downtown Vancouver, as long as the entire building signs up for it. It's roughly $35 a month.

Courtenay is also getting fiber rolled out there. However I think that it's because of the CFB located there.

Haven't heard anything about it in Manitoba, though I pay very little attention to local news.

Would be quite nice though.

If Courtenay is getting it then Victoria should get it soon, but I doubt my little town will get it for awhile.

Yeah, right now it's fully rolled out in like 3-5 larger cities which is lets face it most of the population of Saskatchewan and then I believe there is plans to branch it out from those cities into the smaller surrounding cities.

I'm from SK as well, fibre hasn't hit my neighborhood yet.  Hopefully next year.

Are we talking about fiber to the premise or fiber to the node?

Toronto has had fiber to the node for quite some time now, and Rogers is testing out FTTP in a few areas, but nothing widespread. I'm not too sure about Bell.

I live in Saskatchewan too. I think that I will be able to get fiber in 2017. The bigger cities like Saskatoon and Regina will have them first. Smaller ones like Moose Jaw and Swift Current will not get them until later I think.

Yes, but it's primarily focused on new neighborhoods and buildings being built.

ISP's like Telus, Shaw and Rogers won't bother with older existing areas and buildings unless it's worth the investment.

Its New Brunswick! Bet ya didn't see that coming. The ISP is Bell Aliant, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bell_Aliant. Which before being bought by Bell was just Aliant, and before that was NBTel http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NBTel

This enrages me. My neighborhood was built in the sixties...

Then again, I am with Sasktel. I hope that they will upgrade their stuff.
