Far Cry 4 high settings shadows are so awful - just a glitch it seems

Many readings and search's have been done by me to figure out if its worth my money.

Have come across users who have found these issues.

 

Blackened scenes/Shadows/Ambient Darkenings

TURN AMBIENT OCCLUSION ONLY DOWN TO SSAO, The higher options are currently broken for the people who torrented it...I mean er... are runnin V1.0 (or have not patched legit releases)

Also if your Map is broken/black, go to the Data_WIN32 folder and rename both patch files (don't delete, may need them)

WjVE93U.jpgYou can't see ANYTHING at all if it's covered in shadow.

NOTHING AT ALL!

This becomes very annoying because some mountains cast huge shadows and if enemies are shadowed then you have no chance of shooting them at all.(because you don't see them) 

This is on medium settings :

Same happened when I was playing it, when installing I did get a message saying there was a missing file, did you?

Far Cry 4 looks pretty good and so far I've really enjoyed the game. I don't have a beast of a PC so I turn down the settings a little bit, maybe you should too.

Everybody needs to stop hating on Ubisoft just because it's the popular thing to do right now. If you have legitimate complaints then that's fine, but have a good reason for it.

p.s. the game isn't even out yet so stop complaining

yesterday's weirdness is tomorrow's reason why

Not much. Seriously.

750Ti could probably do medium just fine.

A 270 can get 30+ FPS with Ultra/SMAA

Put it this way mate, it's only a little harder to run than Far Cry 3. It uses the same engine, with a couple of tweaks/modifications here and there.

 

Looking at your rig, you should be fine on high/max @1080p.

A Genuine Question for you guys...

 

Do you think devs leave RLY BAD bugs in game on purpose for torrenters to have, and day1 patch it for legit users.???

Please let the thread know if the Ultra Everything /W SSAO Ambient OCC setting worked for you.

This way future users can be helped removing that shadow issue.

Yep, it works.

 

Also, it's really weird that the 1.0 version doesn't have an FOV slider even though it totally supports up to a 110V.(you just have to change the settings yourself)

Seems like a little bit rushed,but it's good enough.

Sims 4 did that and Dev tycoon did that iirc.
