I probably will have around 1800 dollars after christmas to spend on a computer and peripherals,what should i buy? I plan to use it mostly for gaming and some schoolwork.

Don't even bother planning now, it's useless. You may as well plan after Christmas, when you actually have the money and can take advantage of the sales that are on at that time.

Depends on your monitor. If it's a 1080p 60hz, you only need one 970.
