My LG G3 has a 5.5" screen. The only reason its usable is because it has the slimmest bezels out there basically

Screen size alone is a poor decider.

It's better to figure out what size dimensions you can stand.

For example, Sonys Z3 Compact is a 4.6" screen...but it's about the same size as an iPhone that has a 4" screen.

5.5 is right on the edge of a phablet. The g3s bezels save it from being impossible to use. I've found that the htc one fits very nicely in the hand, even if you don't have the amazing resolution that the g3 has.

I honestly like my 3.5" 4S. The 5/5S seems alright, but even that is too big. The problem with me is that if it's even a little awkward to reach the far corner, it ruins everything. I had a Moto G (4.5"), and it was huge. But 5.5" - the 6 Plus - is insane!

Nothing larger than 4.3" honestly. I'm using a Nokia Lumia 900 as a stop gap and it's on the edge of comfortable to use. The 5C is about as large as I want to go. I like my phones that I can slide into my pocket with minimal effort. My original iPhone 3G was great in that way (although the battery life was trash and it was super slow).

Get the Z3 Compact. The form factor is tiny and easy to hold like an iPhone, yet they managed to get a great 4.6" panel in there.

I plan on buying the Moto G 2014 which has a 5" display, tho I have really big hands so I can make use of the screen real estate.
