Top Gear escorted out of Argentina

connorpiper

So Top Gear was 'escorted' out of Buenos Aires. Because of an offensive license plate.

They were filming a Mustang, Porsche, and a Lotus.

They report that it was an "Accident" and was not swapped or staged.

http://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/uknews/top-gear-crew-escorted-out-of-argentina-province/ar-BB790m2

The "Top Gear" crew was in Argentina to film using three cars, a Porsche, a Lotus and a Mustang. Local officials said the Porsche had the license plate "H982 FKL," which they felt was a reference to the 1982 war between the countries over the Falklands Islands. Argentina, which lost the war, still claims the island group it calls Las Malvinas.

If repost, oops.

They should promptly remove that large log from the rectum of the country.

There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

Just some helpful stuff: You're - You are, Your - Your car, They're - They are, Their - Their car, There - Over there.

Pretty sure it's like international law that if someone invades your territory, starts a war over it and then loses, you're allowed to rub them about it afterwards. Particularly if they continue to insist they were in the right all along.

You can't just claim ownership over a place where literally nobody there wants you, invade it when the international community tells you so, and then bitch about it when you lose.

If they care so much about it, how about we go again and see who comes out on top. They won't ofc, we keep the Falklands garrisoned now so they have no chance.

HAH

Fuck argentina, you lost they won, deal with it. I'm more than willing to bet it was either Jezza or Captain Slow driving that porsche. I don't think hamster would have had the balls or desire to drive it.

The sad part is the Porsche in question had that plate FOREVER.

Top Gears production team is adamant that they simply bought the cars and didn't even account for the plates in question, they had no idea.

Usually TG is up to no good, but I'm kinda inclined to believe them. The British government straight up warned them, the BBC warned them (and they usually never get warnings at all especially from both) and his team is backing up the story that this was 100% unintentional.

So congrats Argentina, you've now given Top Gear even more popularity, as if they needed it. You've now shown the world that you're a bunch of butthurt morons who can't let go of something that happened roughly over 3 decades ago, something that your current generation might not even give a shit about.

You've also, ironically, given Top Gear permission to do what they were warned not to - make all the jokes humanely possible at your expense. It is my opinion that the BBC does nothing, the British Government makes a political jab, and Jeremy Clarkson's smug face lights up the TV, probably with the phrase "I win".

Whether he tried to or not, he just trolled the shit out of your country. Successfully.

Local councillor Juan Manuel Romano claimed the digits 269 on the number plate of the Ford Mustang Mustang Richard Hammond was driving were close to the 255 Britons killed during the 1982 war.

He also said the numbers 646 on James May’s Lotus could be taken as a reference to the 649 Argentinian casualties.

lol those are just random numbers that happen to be close... so i can now abolish the numbers 1000-1500 because that is similar to the number of people died in [insert arbitrary WWII battle near me]....

I sort of believe them, but I can see how it can be offensive. It may be their fault, but some guys may have lost their parent or smth in Falkland war, so I'm siding with Argentina.

Yeah... Because everyone knows that Top Gear are very subtle in their references. Like in the Vietnam special. Their reference to the Vietnam war was very subtle and hard to spot. Only keen eyed viewers noticed it.

3153731748_4ff8ce0622.jpg

And yeah, numbers close to some other numbers are totally not coincidental. 269 is clearly a reference to 255. 646 refers to 649. See my post counter? That's a reference to the war in Iraq where about 4000 people have been killed.

/sarcasm

What's up with people trying to find reasons to be pissed these days? Stop reading into things that aren't there.
